I have seen that some people have multiple GPL installs (I don't) and saw this in a thread elsewhere and wondered if this might be useful to be able to have a single track folder but share amongst the different installs. I don't think I've seen this mentioned here before....

BTW, I don't know how it works.  :idunno:

Hope it helps http://www.rekenwond...m/linkmagic.htm

I use two GPL installs with single track folder for a long time. I prefer it because it's more easy to navigate through replay folder (instead of 200 I have 100 replays in each folder :) ), sounds and layouts folders also not overloaded with files.

In the past I have tried to install Junction Link Magic but don't worked in my pc (sure for my limit  )

Very simple is Link Shell Extension

I use this for GPL (67,66,65..)  and GTR2 (P&G etc..) only one folder full of tracks and no more space occupated in any other installations, only two click of mouse and go

Hi there,
waiting for 55 mod maybe now its a good time to make multiple install of all the mods(65.66,67,gt,canam etc..)and have shortcuts to start them.

It would be nice to have a guide so to have every mod setup correctly and also with the right tracks.
Also for saving space,a single tracks folder would be nice.(link shell extension guide please...)
Do we still need GEM after this whole setup?

If you do multiple installs you will need multiple track folders; that's the only thing I know about it :)

As ginetto says.  It is best to keep a log book next to your computer.  ;)
(this is what I do)

I still have only one installation for all mods and it works great. All in once place without any double files (tracks, ....) that would need more webspace.
And GEM+ is the perfect tool to administrate all my mods. It patches and starts my all-in-one GPL installation.
