Hi guys!
I have done some new textures for the 55´s in this case it´s a PIRELLI Stella Bianca.

The original textures were not good, only half of the tire wall had texture...

So i have done a new set of Pirelli textures...

Posted Image

The problem is...that one poligon vertex on the exteriorior sidewall have a wrong UV coordinates...

Posted Image

I can´t open the 3DO in any GPL  tool whitout error, so i can´t acces de the UV´s section to solve the issue. 3DOs can have some king of protection?
In any case if someone can help me, this will be IMHO a massive improvment on the mod visuals. Thanks!

Diego.

Diego, :)
are all 4 wheels for all the cars with that issue or is it just for some of them?

Ciao ginetto! nice to see some interest!
My mistake was that I was trying to open the wrong object. I still don't understand the file structure well. The 5516 and 7016 are the ones I should use. But there are also several called rltire0, rltire1, rltire2 and so one. I was trying to open those. They all seem to have the same mesh. Anyway.

Regarding your question, all the vehicles seem to use the same .3do. So you would have to fix one and then copy, I guess.
The textures of the Maserati, Vanwall, Mercedes are shared from the Brabham (Vanwall) folder. It would be nice if the Mercedes had their own texture to be able to make Continental tires.

To be honest, I know what I have to do but I don't know how. My only experience with the Trk Editor was making virtual mirrors.
Is there a way to select a polygon in the 3D window and point it to me in the list on the left? or vice versa.  Thanks!.

You can do vice versa.
Select one poly from the list and press F2.
If you push F3, you can enter an address of a poly and it will go there (this you can do using 3DOed and copy paste the address).

The 3DO has all the different LODs; from square (seen from super far away) to the more detailed one that is the only one you need to adjust.

The 3D part is in those 5516 and 7016 (which are the sizes if I recall correctly)
the rltire0 and so on are just a list of the textures that need to be used on the 3DO and you can open and modify very easily in RaceCon.
If you need more info please write here .

I hope you get to make this MOD; it would be very cool! :)

Diego, good luck on your project.

As Ginetto showed, GPL Track Editor can open the 5516 and 7016 series .3DOs just fine.  They contain the wheel/tire shape.  If there is a uv mapping error in the shape, then these are the files that need to be edited.

If you want to change the Vanwall's tire sidewall .mip names, then you will have to edit the rlftire0, rrftire0, rlrtire0, and rrrtire0 .3DOs too as they contain the references to the sidewall .mips.

As you discovered, GPL will use the first instance of a file that has the same name.  So if you want to do Continental tires for the Mercedes, you will have to edit the mlftire0, mrftire0, mlrtire0, and mrrtire0 .3DOs to reference different names for the sidewall .mips.

This is a lot of work, but can be done with time and patience.

Thanks Lee for your support and your work on gpl in general! :bowdown2:
I have redone part of the 3D of the rim to give it some more 3d and realistic look. The spoke textures are provisional just for testing purpouses. But the the spokes pattern is the relistic Borrani style used on some F1 cars at the time like the Maseratis. I love spoke rims and recreate them in low poly its a challenge, but i think it looks good.
