So for the past few days I've been trying to set this game up, but it's been a total mess. OpenGL looks great and runs at the highest graphical settings still ok, although I'm gonna have to scale some things down to have it run completely smooth. However, after about a minute of racing the screen freezes. Qhile the game is still running as I can hear the car still driving and crashing, the screen itself is frozen even after going back to the menu. D3D is a disaster as none of the Catalyst options for anti aliasing etc. are working and no matter how low I set the graphical details, whenever I'm passing the pits the FPS will drop to around 17, while the rest of the way a steady 36-70fps are easily reached, often peaking as high as over 100.

Any ideas on how to fix the OpenGL issue of the screen freezing or getting the game to run properly via D3D? I'd love to play this game, but the way it is now it's useless.

Intel Core i7-3612QM
6GM RAM
Radeon HD 7670M

Thanks!

Maybe some help for you Miguelito if you have not already found on google.Only advice I can give personally is the obvious update of your graphics drivers and patching up of the game :hat-tip:

Thanks for your help! Unfortunately, I've already looked through pretty much everything that Google comes up with, including those pages. Nothing seems to be helping :(

Yeh I'm afraid I also tried that already. Thanks for your suggestion anyway.

Your post made me want to try it out too.
I basically never installed it, my brother bought it like 10 years ago.
I have a win7 64bits with 8GB ram, an intel core 7 and a geforce GT 445M.
It doesn't seem slow or anything, just wondering if there is some must have mod or something.
Looks nice :)

The GTP Mod v1.1 is the nearest to GPL, if you don't want to race ovals, Ginetto.  You will need GTP specific tracks, or generic addons for them, for good racing.  There are many links here at SRMZ, in the N2003 section.

Guessing I am one of the lucky guy's.
I run the graphic optimation in te main menu, It choose D3D and eveything is smooth.
Meanly bought this game for the GTP mod. I will be running Le mans when the great race is on TV.
All the fiddling with drivers and settings never brought me much. I don't fix it when it is not broken.

You could start with a reinstall of the original drivers that came with your video card and do this optimation thing in the main menu.

Good Luck, Marcel
