Hello,

After 5 years of development the final version of Wreckfest (previously known as "Next Car Game") is out now.

The Early Access version was already great but the final version is brilliant. :)

It is great fun. :D
Is anyone else around here playing it?

You might know Bugbear Entertainment because of these titles:
Rally Trophy (2001, PC), FlatOut series (2004-2007, PC, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360) and Ridge Racer Unbounded (2013, PC, PS3, Xbox 360).

I'm definitely interested in this game.
I'm only waiting for it to be on sale, which doesn't seem to be happening this summer.

At £39 it doesn't represent good value for me. I'll wait until the developers have stopped trying to recoup their development costs by soaking early adopters. ;) :)

Bought it today for €30,- and have played it for a few hours.
Though arcade style handling, the game is a blast to drive :)
I am really enjoying it so far!

EDIT: Must add, AI can be rather savage. In races they actually squeeze their car at your inside, sometimes even push or even slam you off the circuit! Often at cost of their own race, too.

Nice to hear. :)
Yes, it is really addictive.
The physics give a good drift feeling.

I bought Wreckfest at the end of September when it was reduced in price. It's good fun. I tried setting up my G27 wheel to use it with the game, and everything functions perfectly. The only slight problem is that because of the nature of the races (tight circuits, lots of contact, lots of spins and crashes) using a wheel seems to be quite hard work! (Or maybe I'm just getting a bit old! :D) I've switched to using my game controller, steering with a thumbstick, and I've found a balance which seems to give me good control without needing much physical effort.

Wreckfest + FF wheel => a good way to break your wrists or thumbs!  :)

I also favour the game controller option too, but also agree that it is a fun game with actually quite nicely done physics.

.....

:D True! But I usually have my force feedback level set to "Chickens***", so I don't get hurt. :D
