Thank you very much Jim

Now starts a longer story !

I opened my "67ALTRKS" Season file, my primary list of tracks that I use and found your Short IoMan track at #1.  Decided that I would not need that so deleted the entry and replaced with the details above.  Closed and opened that folder in GEM

NO TRACKS IN THE FOLDER  WOULD OPEN.!  I could not get to any of the over 80 tracks in the Season Folder.  Went back into the folder in GPL, deleted AAIOM  and replaced 'Short IOM'  so that the folder was back to original Still nothing would open from that "Season" through GEM. :yikesss:

Remembered that I had an older back up of GPL, used the  '"67ALTRKS"  season from that to replace the non-working season folder and checked that it worked.  then manually added AAIOM to that (appeared as the last track) and renumbered.

Back to GEM and the old Season+ AAIOM would again not allow me to open ANY tracks...

Back to GPL. deleted that 2nd non working Season folder and replaced again with my backup folder

Now my 'ALTRKS' folder works again - PHEW, I do not have to reload 80+ tracks.

.I then eventually re read your entry and find I can open the track from my 'vanilla' '67 ini' season file.

That is the GOOD news.

I don't know what happened, but might it be a suggestion for others to make a backup of any 'Season' file before adding AAIOM to it.?

The BAD news is that having spent all that time trying to sort out entries I haven't actually managed to DRIVE the track. yet :hithead:

Thank you again Jim !

:dino:

Edit:-
BETTER news - just done a full lap :partytime:

So I got my wheel stand, but for the life of me I didn't have the energy nor inclination to get it under my desk and have been Gran Turismo 100% recently.

Jim's IOM sat there, taunting me, so the other day I decided sod it, and dragged the wheel stand under my desk. It barely works but hey, it works!

Was going to drive it yesterday but then Windows Update decide to ride me hard and put me away wet so that was out.

So I just finally finished a lap and HOLY COW! What an amazing track! Having the gear and arrow indicators is a genius idea and made the lap far more entertaining. (Though there is one bit near the end where it says 2nd gear, but looks like you go straight on which I did, into oblivion... Lesson learned.)

Only managed a 24 minute lap (in the 65 Ferrari) and crashed a few times, but that was SO MUCH FUN! I know the real track well enough to know the rough locations of things, but having the names of the corners turned on was very interesting.

Amazing work, and so much more fun than the Targa Florio track which feels very point and squirt and isn't particular exciting graphically.

Like the great circuits, especially the original Spa, you start a lap and it feels a lot like this...

Congratulations! :balloons:  :fireworks: You just joined the 'Signpost Corner Club'! (Worldwide membership 5,000+ and growing!) :D   Been there, seen it, done it, got the t-shirt, had the nose repair!

(Jim, if you're following this thread :crossfingers: I'd like to ask a question. Where is the corner called "Cronk Urleigh"? I've heard of it, and it's marked on John Bradley's IOM poster apparently just after the Barregarrow section, but it doesn't appear in your course guide. Is "The 13th" another name for "Cronk Urleigh"?)

Cronk Urleigh is the right hander around the 13th Milestone; the last right hander over a slight crest before the small straight with the two farm buildings; or the last right hander before the straight run into Kirk Michael.

I've never heard the name referred to in commentary or by riders, the preferred name for this general area being just "The 13th" so I just didn't mention it.

Jim,

Congratualtions and thank you.

I stumbled across the release videos while surfing YouTube... a very pleasant surprise.  I haven't had the steering wheel out for quite a while, but it'll be sat on the desk this evening for a few laps. This is going to be a fairly significant timesink for the forseeable future.

Cheers.
