Hello,
Finally I could again try to host a race but unfortunately once again my friend and I could not establish the connection. We found again this error: "timed out opening communications channel".
I have opened on modem the ports Ginetto pointed me, and on the firewalls of our PCs both my friend and I have opened all the ports requested.
Via Igor we can calculate the ping but on my firewall monitoring page there is no communication registered between our two PCs.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Every setup needs a different aproach. I will explain what I did in my situation.
After the modem, I have a Linksys router to provide WiFi in my house.
This router makes 50 IP adresses for all the mobile phones, tablet, laptops, TV and PS4.
Therefore I setup my computer with a fixed IP adress in the higher range and opened the ports on my router for my PC only. When I host a race for a friend I switch of my firewall on my PC. Otherwise he gets the timed out.
The firewall on my router is still on.

So I would suggest to start with turning off the firewall first and if that works, you have to look better to your settings.

Hope this helps.

Greetings, Marcel

We tried to join to a race hosted by another person and, while I've managed to enter, my friend has again received the error message "timed out opening communications channel".
So I think the problem is on his pc, but it's strange because, even when the firewall of his pc is switched off, this error occurs.
According to you it may be the fault of my friend's poor internet connection?
I have no idea what else we could try to solve this problem.

In the Core.ini, you need to make sure that the following line has this value:

net_mdm_server_send_size = 384   ; Server packet size on dialup

If it's less than 384, there's a chance that it'll be lower than the server value, which will keep you from joining.  However, that usually shows a "Bandwidth mismatch" error.
