@Pete, I think they do indeed. But it's also the feeling of the physics, it feels to tame in my opinion. Compared to let's say Automobilista's F1 car model the Codemasters cars almost feel like a boat to me.
But I understand why the F1 games will never go down that route, it's way too difficult for the mainstream audience. Same reason GPL never became really big I think.

Actually, I don't play it untouched. I can't get the whole thing to play on a modern system. What I do is just install the original tracks and cars untouched and drive it.
