Going to,in next few weeks,re-install Nascar 2003 game on my Windows 8.1 laptop.
Haven't had it in my system for some time,so wondering if I need to do anything special.
Like on install, patches, methods, updates, mods and so on.
Or just a straight install with plug and play.
Thanks for any thoughts and advice !

Best you can do is to go to https://mega.nz/#F!x...LRzc6evJ7cLgQHg
Big thanks to Guimengo for his collection.
Also you can see at http://nr2k3.weebly.com
There is a lot of help, too: http://www.nogriprac...splay.php?f=153
Only i had to was to turn off the windows defender.
P.S. oops, for me NR2003 is first GTP and at second place the original oval racing.

Try to install it and then apply the 1.201 patch. If after clicking the 'Race' button you CTD, then it's because of a Windows feature named 'Windows Data Execution Prevention' (DEP), which for safety reasons prevents the NR2003 exe from properly working. Some people have turned off DEP and got NR2003 to run flawlessly.

If that does not work for you, or if you feel reluctant to disable DEP, PM me, as there's another way to make Nr2003 work.
Concerning mods, carsets, and track updates, the following website is a must visit, as it lists and describes all carsets currently available, present-day or historical:

And regarding the always tricky issue of fixing NR2003's blurry graphics, this video was a great help too:

Hey thanks loads for this info.
I have installed it before, but can't remember what I did and if I had any problems.
That's why I started this thread. Just in case I could learn something new.
Again thanks and in the coming next week or so I will install.
If I have any issues I will post in this thread or make a new one with my issue,if this thread dissapears.

So, after several years tried installing Nascar 2003 again and to my surprise it worked like a charm
Still had a Microsoft Sidewinder Precision USB steeringwheel which Windows detected without probs to my surprise.
Life is good again

Really good to 'see' you here.
I still have the bug in a very bad way. Being retired gives me way too much time at the keyboard.
Drop on over at GPLR to see some of our current projects.

Having just read this I think I shall give NR2003 another blast myself.
Hope you are well Arturo.. have a great Christmas.
Hopefully see you online next year. I've been away from GPL for too long. Hoping to have a good GPL 2020.
Paul Villiers.
