Is advanced lighting necessary?  When I drove P&G I turned it off.  Too unrealistic.  Also GPL cars are cigar shaped, so they don't show lighting well.  But full bodied cars do.

Maybe advanced shading is more accurate term. GPL graphics look very outdated, so I don't think that improvements are unnecessary.

I will not thank you for your 60fps patch, M brr, because it makes me playing GPL once again and ruins my social life..

Stop kidding, this is a wonderful patch.

brr,you work on a new mod for a better rendering for gpl ?

I do have a mod in mind, which may include a new renderer (depending on how much work it is to finish it). Currently it renders textured polygons, but no advanced lighting, shadows etc.. yet.

I installed GPL with  GPLPS GPL  installer. Them GEM installed and then the 60fpsv2 patch. I can ride, but the menu screens are partly black and I cannot use the menu options very good. Any idea? I ride in 1900-1020 in 16:9.

PS It works in 1600x1200, not completely good dimensions, and strange black box lines, but still ... it at least works... ;-)

Do the problems disappear when you unselect the 60fpsv2 patch? If not, then the problems are not related to 60fps. You might want to try different rasterisers to see if they make a difference.

It doesnt depend on de 60fps patch. It is the rasterizer. When chosen OpenGL there is no problem, the problem is with the D3D rasterizer.

Which rasterizers are you using?  The old ones or the V2 rasters?  Can you take a screen shot?

Well I dont know which one i use. I installed the AIO GPL package. When i the start up GPL with 16:9 rasterizer there is no problem, but it is 36 fps. For the 60 fps patch I use GEM to startup GPL, i dont know whether then another rasterizer is used? Can I choose which rasterizer to use? I mean, in GEM i can choose d3d or opengl, but can I also different opengl or d3d rasterizers, apart from the different resolutions?

Check out this thread.  It has the V2 rasters and instructions on how to install them.  It sounds like you are very new to GPL, so I won't get involved with changing the mirrors setting yet.

I will check out that tread. I am not new but very ancient with GPL ;-)
I used to play many years ago (XP age or was it even before that?) when I just could flip in the cd and install and play an not be annoyed with anything less than HD resolution and 60 fps, haha, I was happy with 20 fps on one of my old computers!!

Hi Brrr. This is working fine for me and we intend to run the LBGPL season using 60FPS patch. The server is up and running and everything works fin except for on driver.

He is able to run GPL with 60FPSV2 with 67 cars. He can run Mod66 and Mod69 with 60FPSV2NEWMOD, but as soon as he runs 65Mod he is getting a message the standard XP message that GPL has encountered a problem and needs to close with send error report. GPL65 without the patch is running fine. He deleted GPLc65.exe to rebuild the file and this is the same. I sent him my GPL.EXE to replace his and rebuild the GPLc65.exe and this is still not working. He tried several cars and tracks, but no difference. We tried D3D, D3DV2, OGL, OGLV2, but this is all the same symptoms.

I have no more idea to try to help him. Do you have any? Does anybody have any idea to help? It would be really appreciate. We would like to be able to run this season using 60FPS, which is such an improvement!

If the 65mod is not updated, then 60fpsv2 is the right patch. With the updated 65mod, 60fpsv2newmod is the correct patch.

Has anyone else had fps issues when an ingame chat message is being displayed? FPS seems to drop for only the period of time that the message is on screen and it all returns back to normal when the message is gone.

I did notice my bandwidth settings were not the same as the server and have ammended them so that they are the same now and haven't tested to see if that has helped yet :idunno:
