I must say I needed to do that time, problem I am very close to the limit, almost impossible to go faster, even with splits for around 3:29.8
I had to use all the time the dust as part of track.

Tonight did some laps at the Ring, just for fun and set 8:17.33 with theLotus, far from my best time, but it was pretty fun.

Great times there Stewart, for someone who doesn't 'get' the Glen you sure seem to have it down pat

probably... my time was mostly a drive through, I wanted to set only one lap and get a time
Gothica does not seem to be a very popular track too, IMHO

I drove a few more tracks this night:

New time: Birmingham Superprix Circuit 1989, Eagle time 1:37.571 session T
New time: El Pinar , Eagle time 1:12.977 session T
New time: Shutoko C1 , Eagle time 3:48.176 session T
New time: Rio , Eagle time 2:10.191 session T

Birmingham is a cool track. Nice flow and was really worthy to try some laps there. It is going to my favourite ones.
El Pinar is a nice track too, but it is not my style. In fact I don't like that much Vallelunga too, by the twisty section layout. Anyway, another good work from Sergio Loro.
Shutoko wasn't a track I could call fun. It was some time ago, when I was still learning the GPL. Today it becames great, looks like Spa with some walls around and a night Need For Speed scenary. The big surprise of night. What sucked, now rocks. :clap2:
Rio, although a brazilian track, is maybe the weirdest track I already driven in GPL, don't know why. Whoa, it looks a scrambled Rio de Janeiro!!!   and also, the chicanes are strange, specially at the end of beach.

I remember Rio as a clipping monster, but didin't looked at it for ages.

Atm I try to get under 3:20 at Spa .....

Should stop to plant the car into some hedges or walls , splits says a 3:19 should be possible ....

13.02.2009
Update time: Spa Francorchamps 1967, Lotus time 3:20.461 session T improvement -1.412
New time: Gothica 1967, Ferrari time 23:38.136 session T

GPLRank score = 3.654 (no change)
Monster of GPLRank score = 250.609 (change of -1.412)
Not enough laptimes for a TotalRank

don't look at the Gothica time, that was the round for the screenshots in the release thread :P

Good luck at Spa Swen, get those exits right and your times will tumble ;)

Your trying some good tracks there Otavio, Birmingham is great isn't it? and Shutoko is a adrenaline track. I remember Rio fondly, it was quite advanced when it first came out if i remember right.

I had a breif race at Mosport last night and set a new PB, bonus! :)

Mosport Park 1967
  Brabham Race 1:21.114 (new)
    Practice 1:21.535 (new)

Nice one, Dark, good luck in Mosport

yeah, Birmingham and Shutoko were the best tracks of that night.

Gave another go in Shutoko last night and improved a few more seconds there.
It was a fun to chase a 3:43.56, while in the first time I raced there I was very lost, still used only with games like GP2, where the car all the time tends to follow the best line. Without AI driving fast there was a big challenge for me. A 4:15 would be an great achievement on my first go, a few time ago.

Gingerman looks a fun track, but it wasn't that great, I guess. I was spinning so much at the brakings, basically only doing small changes on default setup. 1:29.45 took me happy.

To close the night, a few attempts in JT Canyon. Stopped after reaching the sub 5 minutes: 4:53
Not the worse track after learning it.

Way to go Swen!

Keep the new track times coming Otavio

I started a new job today, back into the world of IT, gulp! :) With one thing or another i've been out of work and out of IT for a year and a half so my GPL time will suffer for a while until i get used to it all again and work out a routine i can fit everything into.

But thats no excuse for you lot to get lazy so keep those laptimes coming!! ;)

P.s. I don't know if you drop in here from time to time Burt but congrats on the 66 monster sir

Thanks dark,

Yes all done at last. I would have been here earlier to blow my own trumpet very loud indeed but I have been a bit tied up smoothing over a bit of gpl based marital neglect (Mrs Burt threatened to flay me alive if I didn't spend more time with her around valentines day (that's also my birthday incidentally). So after a lot of wining and dining and flowers normal hostilities have been resumed...aah domestic bliss...well it's better than hitting yourself in the face with a mallet isn't it.

So, Gpl66 monster rank +357.678 which puts me 6th behind Kanzo.

aaaaand relax.

good luck with the new job.

all the best
