In mode GP the patch works like in mode PRO, with only one difference: The amount of the wear effect is lesser than in mode PRO (see the last small line under the table). In mode GP it should be possible to make a race without tire changing.

Well Ive been testing and running this latest version for a few weeks and it is friggin awsome! Dirty tires and tirewear are great features that will enhance the race dynamics , its gonna create som incidents for sure but also overtaking opportunities that werent there before and maybe some suprising turnarounds. Pitstop repair is cool , the fact that you can come back in certain instances and continue the race is a great feature. This was also a integral part of the races in 67 , nobody wanted a pitstop but they were still very frequent. In a 0 stop format any pitstop is gonna have an negative impact on the end race result but anything to stay in the race. This patch can produce a spread in the field wich also reflects the era in a good way. And it opens the door for great and epic comebacks once in a while. Plus more white flags and general things to deal with around track. Whats not to like.. :D

We will be running this patch in our online league from august this year. We are in the middle of a spring season now and we wont change regulations in mid season. It also gives people time to get it and get familiar with how it works and what it does. This will be in pro long mode. What we want to enhcance is the chance to salvage something even if you go off and damage the car but youre gonna have to get yourself to the pits on your own to fix it. If not, then its race over. We will also be running this with an 80 % race completion requirement in order to be eligable for points. Racelength set to approx 45 min with the aim to push it to 60 min once the field comes to term with how the wear works and how we need to deal with it.

We think this will add a new dimension to the races that can enhance the dynamics of the race enviroment in a positive and more realistic way. Obviously they didnt fix a suspension issue in 15 secs back then but they would try anything to keep the car in the race and this patch reflects some of that great mentality of the 60`s. Great patch Olaf.

67 mod.

http://f1historicesports.com/

Im testing this and training with this patch these days and yes it will up the challenge. But its nothing a gpl driver cant handle or get used to. Its a matter of getting familiar with the effects of this patch. They are subtle and very nicely done. A little more slip with grass and gravel but not undriveable. Wear is managable but if you drive with a lot of spin and lock up it might cost you towards the end of the race.

First and foremost I think it will add to the race dynamics and create fun races to drive. Challenging but fun.

(Note added : Im not completely sure about this but it looks like if youre running this patch alongside Lee`s pitstop patch wich offers refueling the car also adds fuel if you stop for repair or tirechange even if you dont activate the refueling option. )

Yes , I feel the same way. Its gonna be really interesting to see what kind of race enviroment it creates. As a "new" league we wanted to stitch together a unique concept , something to set us apart from the other leagues and this patch will do the trick. Hopefully it creates fun and challenging races to drive.

C u on track Jani!
