Hi guys,

The first set of track promos were based on some forum posts a couple of months ago. I could go back to what was written back then, but I might as wel ask for new input, now that you guys have gotten some experience with the promo feature.

Therefore, please post which tracks should be promoted the next couple of months, and also which GPL-mod would be best suited for that track.

And in case you're wondering why I'm not competing myself in the promos, I haven't driven GPL for a couple of years now (other than installing a new mod and putting in some laps). I don't have the time anymore, but I like keeping GPL (and GPLRank alive), which I can do when traveling by train and plane (no, not automobiles!)

Cheers,
Ed

St Jovite with Gt Mod would be good. You choose good tracks anyway. What about something with the new 69 mod? I'd have to install 66 and old 69 mod, but that's no problem. What about choosing a track that F1 would be racing on about the same time?

Thanks for that Ed!
I believe that the GPLRank is one of the barebone's that keep GPL alive.
The same with ATDB this site and Vroc / Igor.

Great track's guys!
I am in :)

Good one! I have raced online at St. Jovite quite some times and the races where always good. Therefore, the new promo is at St. Jovite, in the GT's.

That would be good with all those chassis to choose from but we wouldn't be able to post our times until it comes online at GPL rank

Just a thought if this thing becomes a regular feature which it should do if it continues to get the support it has been getting. How about following some of the major motorsport events the week they come around   :idunno:

For example, we could have run sports cars at Sarthe last week, Thundercars at IMS 3 weeks ago for the Indy 500, 67's at Monza when the F1 race is on. They do a similar thing at iRacing and it is quite popular.

I thought about Bathurst soon as I went off site. How about some of the lesser circuits from the countries that some of our participants might have visited. For example, I've been to most circuits in the UK.

Andy.
That's the idea behind the Track Promo feature in the first place: to stimulate people to drive on tracks that are not well known, but fun to drive.

While an approach to drive on circuits that will be raced on in real life might draw more participants, it doesn't help in increasing the popularity of the 'hidden pearls' in the tracks database.

So Andy, which track sin particular are you thinking of?

Opatija / Preluk only has about 800 downloads, and is really fun with very close walls. Especially good with Tomas Lacheles update (its called raw version, but that's by his standards, it looks very good to me) Beal Valley is also fun and relatively anonymous.

Hi,Mallory Park is a nice track to drive. 1967 Croft has fond memories for me. Cadwell Park is also nice though I've not driven it. Donington Park, I always used to watch on the Craner Curves.

Ed is it possible to use the 66 mod or are the number of extra chassis a problem?

If possible I nominate Parco Sempione 37 and the 66 mod  :)

Ed just want to say thankyou for your continued support of GPL Rank, this is a core part of the enjoyment that I get from GPL without it I would of moved on to other Sims by now  :hat-tip:

I've only just come back from a sports car (ATs ) race at V.I.R. I have to say that this combination is a lot of fun to drive, and I'm sure the same goes for the big prototypes at this track! I can recommend it for one of your coming promos.
