GPL Weekly is being attacked with SQL injection (= bots trying to access database with tricky manouvers), and thus it is down again. At the moment I don't have the resources (80% time, 20% knowledge)  to solve this problem. Expect a few weeks break, till I'm back with an all new, safe and bulletproof version.

Hi Stefan, I'm glad you like it! You might want to add german translations to GPL Dictionary :)

Now you can download season specific season.ini files via Season pages. Look for “Get season ini file“ link below the race list.

By saving these files to your GPL/seasons folder you will see the selected seasons in GEM. You still have to install the missing tracks :)

I couldn't figure out all flag IDs so flag info might be incorrect here and there.
'startingGrid' is also a mysterious variable, so I set it to 4 to all tracks.
'numberOfLaps' are calculated from track length (300 km / track length rounded to nearest integer.
'year' is based on the mod settings for the first event
'month' and 'day' are based on the event date.
Season ini files are updated automatically when a race added to the calendar, or any race details was changed.

Please report if you see any bugs, errors, malfunctions.

Hi Jani. I have a utility which generates two sets of TotalRank season.ini files, one sorted by average lap time ("TotTim00.INI" -> "TotTim08.INI"), the other sorted by average lap speed ("TotSpd00.INI" -> "TotSpd08.INI"). The utility is a bit crude and needs a bit of setting up, which is why I haven't released it publicly. But the key thing is that it relies on having a recent download of the SGEM.INI file to make it work.

The SGEM.INI file contains all the information for each track, including the variables which you mention in your post. In my utility, I access the data by reading the whole SGEM.INI file into a series of C++ "map" containers at the start of the program, which I can then access using the track directory name as an index. For example, to find the "flag" and "startingGrid" variables for a particular track I just use the C++ lines:

TrackFlag = mFlag.at( TrackDir );
TrackGrid = mStartingGrid.at( TrackDir );

...where mFlag is map containing all the "flag" variables, and mStartingGrid holds the "grid" data. Similarly I can access other variables too if I want.

A simpler (but slower) way to get the same data would be to open the SGEM.INI file for input, read through the file until you find the block header for the required track, which would be contained in the SGEM.INI file as:

"[" + TrackDir + "]"

And then read the following lines until you find the "flag=" variable, and the "startingGrid=" variable (and any others that you need). Then close the SGEM.INI file or "seek" back to position zero when you're done.

Using the SGEM.INI file in this way makes sure that I always have the correct flag and starting grid for all tracks. The only exception to this is for new tracks which haven't been added to the Track Database and SGEM.INI file yet. For these, I manually maintain a seperate season file called "NewTrack.ini" for recently-released tracks. This is used to provide data when it's missing from SGEM.INI.

I'm not sure how your code works on the GroundHog/Weekly site, or if you can access the SGEM.INI in this way. But I hope my examples can somehow help you get the right information for each track when you generate your season files.

Hi Keith,
Thanks for the tips.
Weekly code reads Weekly's seasons and tracks data tables. I will scrutinize sgem.ini, make Weekly read out these data and add to db.

Weekly is down at the moment.

It must be something with the whole server park, as the host website is also down...
