Hi People!
My name is Diego, like many of you, i'm classic motorsport lover...
I went back recently and discovered GPL´s magnificent work of Thomas Laechele in Monza...
http://www.thomas-laechele.de/gpl/

so I decided to make a small contribution to improve the texture of a dozen billboards. I keep the originals, only improve the textures.

THKs to the comunity for the great stuff! It´s amazing how far the limits can be pushed, but i think to keep GPL alive in time we need work hard and professionally.

My Regards Diego!

Thanks Pal´s! I tried to be subtle, so do not expect anything spectacular! :)
In the Rf2 version of Monza 10K all looks aged dirty and rusty, but in that times Moza was more live than ever!!!
So i prefer this version :tongue2: !!!

Yes, it is crazy to see old worn out signs on a successful track.  Sponsors paid money to have their signs up there, so they needed to look good.  But a little wear and age seems good, when it's done so nicely.  This artwork is very good!

Hmm...I'm really surprised now. Very good work, maybe a bit too much weathering, but I've not many reference photos. Look at this Shell billboard from the 65GP, I don't know if you have such a strong weathering in 1 year, also the reflection is a bit too much.

However, I like it and it's a big improvement, so thank you very much!

OK! here is an alternative more darker...less weathered...less reflective...also with a more accurate panel size...so you can choose between the two flavors!!! Back UP FIRST!

The colors are not the real ones like in the picture...but must match the overall light in the track! so is complicated!

Match the real world in CG (Computer Graphics) is always a complex job, because in the real world even the brand new plastic objects are rich in texture and colour...so to trick your brain and create an illusion of reality is necessary to exaggerate things a bit.
Unfortunately it is a general trend of game designers take this too far...
