I can shed a bit of light on those concrete sections, they were iron plates with a concrete layer on the top that were placed over the horse racing track after the horse racing fences had been taken down between meetings.
Eventually the club got tired of all the work involved and the club abandonned the track when the betting agency's made more money for the club than the race track.

Chevron publishing did a run of Australian touring car races, with the majortiy of races on the DVD's at Warick Farm, I'll check my collection as one dvd has Graham Hill narrating a lap of Warick farm at track level.

edit- Found it!

This picture is from Caversham on the other side of the country in Western Australia, not sure why it is labelled as Warwick Farm.

Whilst doing some research I came across Bill Pottinger's photos on "The Roaring Season" website.

http://www.theroarin...llection-Part-1
http://www.theroarin...llection-Part-2
http://www.theroarin...llection-Part-3

There is a book of his (mainly?) Teretonga photos out.  Having contacted Bill, he has just had another print run so it is available (NZ$110 for delivery to Europe).

Details can be found at https://www.billpottinger.com/

Not sure if the book contains many "track reference" photos.  I can let you know when my copy turns up.

I would be very interested to know if there are many photos in the book not available on the internet or on roaring season from Tasman 67-68

If you look at post #58 of the roaring season part 3 thread, it shows some images from the book.  Quite a few car shots that I don't think are available on the internet.  I can let you know when my copy arrives.  Might take a while to reach England tho'.

BTW I'm sure the price I quote above will be much lower for NZ/Aus delivery.

My interest is the 1969 Tasman cars ..... ;)
