The main reason to switching to a new folder name is that it ensures that everyone is running from the same basic starting point and so avoids any online conflicts or mistakes with non-updated versions.

To overcome the graphics loading problems a better bet is for everyone to still use the new zelt71 version, but for a reduced zelt71.3do to be produced. If the texture and object file names have not been changed, this could be as simple as renaming the previous zelt70 fixed 3do to be called zelt71.3do. (Ginetto or Jack should be able to confirm this). Alternatively, they might make a new light version available if they were asked nicely with less of the new added objects and/or a reduced draw distance.

In general it is always best with significant updates to release them with a new name as it avoids conflicts with old versions and the potential for problems if not everyone updates their versions. (This is also the main reason I am never keen on the release of public betas).

Interesting thread.  Though it seems most of these track problems (only?) affect online racing.  Could we differentiate a list of tracks with offline problems?

(I recall an early version of Avus which, if you crossed the S/F line at full speed, would launch you into the air like a missile, minus one or both front wheels and trailing smoke and flames.)

Thank you very much, Ginetto!  :hat-tip:

Maybe announcing a Sunday Pickup Race on Salzburg74 whould be a good reason for a server stress test?
As usually I never had problems on this track with small grid pickup races (4 to 6 cars) but in 2 out of 3 league races (more than 12 cars each) I got the freeze blues. The third race I got the "silly suicide move ends your race immediately" blues but that is not the track's mistake. :punish:

Are there any news for Le Mans Sarthe?

Last night we had our final 28 lap GT Championship race at UKGPL there...

Result:
10 drivers discoed in lap 16/15 at the same time, others had freezes before that.
Only 3 drivers of 17 survived this point unaffected, 2 drivers could continue but were lost from results.

Some month ago we had same problems with italian Formula Libera here...

It's such a shame with this essential track for the GT mod :idunno:

Greetings
Axel

As GPLRACER is having a long GT race at Le Mans Sarthe soon (14.09.2011), do you think you could please have a look at the track, if you can find any problems?
I know your time is limited, but it would be much apprechiated. :)

Some additional information about the LeMans races:

All with 36fps mode, started from IGOR

Server position was Italy and Germany

Greetings
Axel

PS:
The mass disco with UKGPL were 11 drivers within a server time range of 50sec.

Is it possible to have a problem with time synchronisation?

Recently we (GPLRACER league) had a GT race (8 drivers) on Le Mans Bsarthe and no one had a freeze.
Strange, that there are sometimes problemns with that track and sometimes not.
