I've just been thinking of when I first got into GPL. When I strapped myself in and went straight for the full race physics racing mode, and never even thought about the trainer mode as a learning process.

When I've raced in other computer games, I've pretty much done the same, enabling all the driver aids, like steering, break and traction help. But on some games I've progresseviley option ticked one or two aids on or off, until I've  got to grip with the physics and driving of that game.

I have no idea how the trainer mode works in GPL, but is it similiar to driver aids in other games. In GPL though it's just seems to be trainer mode on or off, with full physics difficulty on. So therefore all or nothing, with no chance of switching aids of individually, and to help the step by step learning curve.

Would it be possible to do this step by step process, by focusing on/off steering help, break assistance and helping with mechanical grip.

Apologies if I offend all you purists. I don't want to make this game a full on arcade version. Am I also looking at this subject from the wrong angle 🤔

Your thoughts welcome 🤔

Sorry if I didn't understand what you're asking but in training mode you can choose between 3 levels of power, 4 levels of damages and also use or not aids for braking, accelerating and shifting gears.

Pics in italian but I hope you can go and check in your GPL.

Apologies for the vague thread.

As I've never ever tried the trainer mode, I always presumed that switching it on, dumbed down every aspect of driving, similiar to an arcade mode, not giving chance to switch things on or off seperately. For example been able to switch on steering help but turn off break assistance.

Thank you Ginetto

The way it is now, through GEM or in-game just before you go to the track, using the Trainers just uses lower powered engines with the same chassis. So the weight, physics and tire grip are the same with less power.

Separate from that you can enable the brake and throttle aids in the game play menu which is like anti-lock braking or traction control.

But is the power the same for everybody, or every car gets a specific cut on a generic percentage?

All Advanced Trainers have the same engine and transmission. Ditto for the Basic Trainers.

Each chassis keeps it's aero characteristics and weight, so they're all different in that way.
