Without been unthankful or putting pressure on modders. No Intention !

What future developments and enhancements, would you like to see in GPL.

Are they possible, feasible or have we everything we need.

Is it a case of 'It is what it is' and therefore the game is just right and as gone as far as we can.

Still adopting a no rush strategy that still keeps the game pure for our community, traditionalists and fans alike.

Dynamic weather
Pit stop interaction
Missing tracks
Global hype tool
More yearly/car mods
Full proof year career tool for all mods
Better online interaction
Enhanced graphics
New version (GPL 2)
Oily rag smell
Probably something I've missed....

Or should we leave the game alone, not panic and build on it generally πŸ˜€

A 60 fps patch that would work perfect with all mods, AI cars and online would be on top of my list.

I must say that I agree with this. Not much else I would like to have for GPL like it.

I know it is probably impossible and a bridge too far. But a classic motorbike mod, is what I've always wanted.Oh and included 30's mod and some more 60's years.

That and a career mod(aka Codemasters F1) and dynamic weather. Which as got closer with the GPL fog. Oh and of course the South loop of the Nurb ring.

1. No lost signal static splash screen which cumulatively adds up to no doubt at least an hour, maybe weeks or more by now of my life being blasted with digital nonsense.
a. plus, driver view is not a camera so the driver should never see a lost signal screen anyway

2. Each track has its own EXE with a desktop shortcut to in-car 1st practice session.
a. one click from desktop to car
b. no track load times

:D

It feels wrong to wish anything when we already have so much!

....but i do want a few things

1. GPL to keep running for years and years to come on my modern hardware
2. 1968 F1 Season!
3. More tracks re-done with the detail of Spa67!

My pitstop patch has been available for a few years now.  It doesn't provide damage repair, but does allow player refueling and also limits the AI to the player car fuel capacity so they have to refuel as often.  You can get it here:

http://gplmotorworks.gplworld.de/

What "Global Hype Tool" would you want?

Is the 30s mod still alive? Do you know what year it focuses on?

Here also my wishlist in order of priority:

1. 60 or 72 fps patch working with the AI in all existing mod.

2. Missing tracks of existing mod, starting from Sudschleife.

3. As a new mod the 1973 World Sportscar Champonship.

60fps working with AI is all I want, but it's not a big deal.

Some of you are never happy.

Would love to see some more development of track building tools plus game patches to allow new things in the game:

More surface types with appropriate grip levels and sounds: gravel, cobbles, smooth paving, timber bridges etc. Customizable :)

New section types: T junction, crossroads, lane merges, bridges over, bridges under, and other things that are currently hard to achieve using just straight and corner sections. The underlying physics would still be made of simple corners and straights but graphically would make these types of junctions easier.

Smoother apexes: GPL needs more polys on the inside of corners, it's one of the few things on newer tracks that gives clues that this is a very old game.

More complex barrier types: underlying physics would still be the simple walls we have now, but graphically would allow you to build better detailed armco, wooden fences, walls with 3d coping stones on the top, sloping walls / embankments etc.

Some kind of water texture: although that would probably need reflections and a new rendering engine!

More traces: very difficult to build any track with just 16 elevation traces to define all the levels of the whole track and surroundings. Would maybe allow for cambered road with enough curves without messing up the physics? Probably not :D

I don't know if any of this is possible, it's amazing that anyone was able to figure out how to make the tools we have :bravo: ..... but some of them are quite difficult to get to grips with, and they focus on using the features already in the game instead of adding new ones :)
