Thank you Chris, that is a wonderful video. Full of interest - the start sequence boggles the mind (imagine Charlie Whiting having to jump out of the way of Hamilton et al), and I also love how much you can see them sliding the cars. In one of the early laps Hulme arrives at Gasworks very crossed up indeed.

Haven't watched it to the end yet, must find the time.

The end is the worse part. Seeing Bandini trapped under the car for such a long time is sad and uncalled for.

I really want to see someday Belgian GP 1966. BBC broadcasted this race for sure (some footage was in Grand Prix: The Killer Years). Probably most crazy first lap in F1 history! :)

As the event related to the Fiftieth anniversary of the only time in modern F1 where the Le Mans organisers hosted the french GP, at Bugatti ,see here ....
http://srmz.net/inde...showtopic=11861

.....Patrick Sinibaldi will soon release a book dedicated only to the 1967 Monaco GP.

There are more and more very specialised books of motor racing interest  in french now. Some of us here will get it for the pictures.

We see and alls here hope GPL has still big input on the outside world

I've had this race on my 'to watch' list for quite a while but avoided watching it because I didn't want to witness the Bandini tragedy. I finally did so a couple of weeks ago and it was an eye-opener. I was so engrossed in it that the accident went out of my head and almost took me by surprise.

The camera grid-walk was quite brilliant, the way it was dipping into the cockpits etc, it just goes to show that there's nothing new under the sun. On the grid, I noticed Teddy Mayer around the McLaren car and Jo Ramirez working on Gurney's Eagle. And what about that Lamborghini Miura concept car doing the parade lap?

I tried eavesdropping on the drivers meeting but I couldn't quite make out all the words, I think what Louis Chiron was saying was obvious but I would have loved to have heard what Brabham was saying to Clark. If you watch the background closely just as the grid clears for the start, you can see some old-fashioned heavy-handedness as a poor photographer is almost physically assaulted by a policeman to get him off the grid. Nothing quite like having a bit of power huh?

I was also surprised by just how late Surtees and Clark get into their cars. They get in at the very last minute! I was expecting to see a dummy grid but they took off pretty much straight away. I thought dummy grids were in place by 1967?

Anyway the Hulme and Stewart battle in the early laps was pretty frantic, Hulme was sliding everywhere, really hustling the Brabham, you can hear the tyres squealing; whereas Stewart barely seemed out of line relatively speaking. He overtook him but his race didn't last.
