Perhaps  these?  Not stringbacks but impeccable provenance.

Got him rigged and rawly mapped. I think he would like to drive already.

Thanks!
Well when I get it in some kinda of shape, FFB, track scene, optimizing it to work on "lower end" machines, maybe then we can try to form some kinda test group here :) But surely going to take a moment or two after these are done.

I´ve done some resizing to the car model and got the new driver in. Had to re-rig him (at least I know now how to do it right). Now I have to re-do the steering animations etc. Fun.

Also should do a better texture for drivers suit. It looks ugly :D

Thanks you! :)

Just got left hand-left turn animated. It´s a bit tricky task but looks fairly good when it´s finished. When I get the animations sorted I will add some more details to the track and then I´ll post a new video.

The hand seems to be in weird angle... But anyways the driver has got some kinda stringback gloves there :D

I´m adding many many many trees to the scene. Mainly using few generic tree textures atm.

I have no idea how one would go about building a game like this, but I guess motion capture is not an option? How do you make such an animation without motion capture? Looks like something that takes way too much time to make for something that serves no real purpose other than make the game easy on the eyes. Or isn't it as much work as it might seem?

I think motion capture would be quite hi-tec for this kinda project. Basically what you need to do is to rig the driver model (attach bones to it), then rotate everything in its correct position (driver sitting in car), then you just record the animation moving/rotating those bones and adding more clips to the animation. And this all is controlled with some of the vehicle physics parameters and animation scripting. It really isn´t as much work as it might seem :)

Remodeled some parts of the steering wheel, did driver arm animations few times, moved dash and gauges a bit. Also resized tires to meet some real dimensions, but cannot be sure what sized tires they used in late 60´s cars..

Still have to add details to the track before new video is out..
