I came across these two recently uploaded video's that show the complete proces on how to install Grand Prix Legends with and without a disc.
They also include the required steps to setup GEM+ and iGOR for online racing.

The channel does not have a lot of subscribers at the moment, so it might not get much exposure.

Installation wtih CD:
https://youtu.be/SuCC141aY1c

Installation without CD (using 2004 demo):
https://youtu.be/kWi1j8Yjxwc

I thought these could be really usefull to add them to linkpages for new players.
GPLlinks.org uses the 2014 video by Dannykarnage, which is still good, but does not show the actual installation proces and setup.

He is basically just going through my GPL Easy Installation Guide.
Something I had in mind, but never did. Nice, now I don`t have to do the work myself and make a video. :D

For which you deserve all the credit. :)

It's just a nice extra to have the proces in a video format I thought so.

A contribution to the digital natives :D

I see it with my two older kids:

- Dad: read the manual; kid: naaaahh...
- Dad: see if there is a tutorial on Youtube; kid: aaahh, that's how it works ... !!!

I watched the video just to see what he was going to do. He said there's no reason to reboot the system after GPL installs. I've always done that. It's not needed? Why does the installer want it done?

Probably has to do with older Windows versions!?

Yeah, that must be it. Well, Win 10 reboots fast, so it's no big deal.

The recommendation to reboot stems from the early Windows days, the theory is that if the installed program needs to include something in the protected system locations it should only be able to do so during reboot. With more advance OSs it's pretty much unnecessary to do that since everything lives in it's own bubble or at least tries to. What restarting does is reset the whole system and loads the new configuration, that's why its the first response when you get when you make an IT call.
