While some kind souls maybe check the track installer for East London, Clermont-Ferrand and Charade (http://gem.ebi-servi...dTracks_0.2.exe) I have started work on a complete installer based on the original from David Wright and the original mod team as well as the changes made by Nigel Pattinson, Richard Cooke, Paul Skingley and tested by Robert Hunter, Remy Roesz, John Roberts, Paul Skingley and the GPLRACER League.

So far this package should be finished in the next days but what needs absolutely be included to guarantee a nice, working 65mod?

Here's what should be included:

1. 65mod steering wheel fix by MECH from here: http://srmz.net/inde...?showtopic=5917 (65-steeringwheelfix.zip) I did a quick check and I believe I can manage this. Only questions is the 2D option for the lotus. MECH any hint because you provide a lotus.3do while the 2D helmet option would replace your with the original 2D lotus.3do. You have supplied 2D helmet options for the other cars where needed. So is there a reason for this?

Optional:
1. height fix from MECH from here: http://home.planet.n...e/Downloads.htm (65mod_raised.zip) Same question here regarding the Lotus. So when the other steering wheel fix is solved this will be the same :)

2. Alternative soundsets because the links from the Legends of 65 mod 2.0.1 are dead (http://download.bcsi.../65/65modv2.htm)
Thanks a lot guys!

OK. I found some sound files:

http://srmz.net/inde...?showtopic=3568

http://www.racesimle...ead.php?tid=772

And I checked the info from here: http://srmz.net/inde...?showtopic=7246 (65 Mod Update - New Models) If Remy is reading it as well as MECH (Martin) can they tell me if those would not break the changes dones by the 65mod steering wheel fix?

To mimic the original installer I have created the logic and stuff and added some stuff I have done for some other mod installers.
Here are the screenshots :)

The installer with the original choices and the 2.0.2 patch itself is done so that with one installer one have a complete mod without the need to delete/rename stuff before applying the 2.0.2 patch. Now I must/want to add the things from the beginning of the thread. Help is appreciated for the questions I have :)

Just had the wonderful idea of having an exclusive choice for MECH's fix and to make them the default. That is something like MECH's fix and/or the included 2D helmets.
I assume that the height fix is compatible with his own fix? Anyone any info?

MECH's steering wheel fix improves the groundbreaking work, of the 65 mod team, by fixing an unforeseen flaw in it's textures.  The ride height adjustment was made to work with this initial texture fix.  It can be added to it, and will overwrite some .3do and textures, to do so.  It's strictly a modification, rather than a fix, so should remain an option. :)

The height option was created, because the 65 F1's raced with a minimum height of 6 inches.  GPL modeling during beta development in 1998, allowed a minimum height of 1 inch.  It must've looked too strange that way, as models were raised to 21/2 (6.35cm) shortly before release.

Changing the height to a realistic level for 1965, required an expert modeler. As Papyrus no longer works here, we have MECH and Bernd, at reduced wages!

We're indeed lucky that Martin and Bernd work so cheaply.   :D

The height fix already has the steering wheel bug fixed. It was based on the corrected fileset.

I don't know if i included the 2D wheel option in the height fix.
If necessary i can add that but it won't be soon, i'm rather tied up with the Canam mod atm.

Regarding the 2D wheels missing for the lotus? I don't know what your problem exactly is but the steering wheel fix only have the files present that where causing the problem. If a 3do isn't present it means the original file is fine as it is. ;)

As long as those files don't overwrite the 3do files supplied with the steering wheel fix there shouldn't be a problem.
Replacing mips won't be intervering the correction. The mips i supplied where needed to prevent GPL loading random textures but can be replaced.

Thanks a lot Martin for the info :)

Makes it a bit easier because then I can integrate your fixes into the core/standard and let's the ride height fix an option like the other stuff.

For sure this needs some testing :)

And thanks for the hint about 3DO files. Will check the downloaded files.

Martin,
I will leave out the height fix first. A quick check showed me that it needs enough testing for the 65 mod 2.0.2 and the steering wheel fix. However I can't seem to understand this Ferrari option: player_2dh_nart_blue_or_red_or_white

Does it mean that if player uses Ferrari Nart AND 2D helmets that this file is needed?

And about the Cooper T73. Is this a "standalone" option? Because there is no 2D option for this and it consist of coventry.3do like the 2d option.

It seems i left these files out when i was copying the necessarry folders to the zip
I've fixed that and the new zip is available at my website.

I haven't checked what those files exactly do i just raised the height so the cars all look the same.
I guess the nart version is probably using more textures so needs a main car 3do fix. There should be a readme for this iirc.

The T73 i don't know but it looks like it turns the current car into a T73 version. Using the 2D version would probably turn it back into a T77?

Thanks a lot Martin, I'm sure it's hot at your home too. Will check tomorrow.

About the T73, I would think that 2D helmets would turn it into a T77 too :)
