the amount of time and effort that one man has put into this epic track is unbelievable we all should bow down to his greatness :bowing:

btw i did see Jim lurking in this thread late one night about 2-3 weeks ago

Well, a man can DREAM, can't he?

Here's my NEW dream! Twenty-eight months from today I'll turn 65, start drawing my "full" Social Security retirement income, and will thus be able to work less and have more time to learn new GPL circuits!!! Maybe THAT'S a good target date for Jim's Full IOM release!

Has there really been no progress report on this project since the April 2018 screens of optional hard shadows that Jim posted on his Latest News page? Yikes! That's almost a year ago. Anyone had any contact with him? Hope he's still in good health and hasn't binned this labor of love.

All fine. I had contact with him yesterday. He is still working on the full IOM.

Interesting that the pic Jim posted is taken quite near the end of the lap! ;) :crossfingers:
(Although to balance that statement, there's quite a concentration of buildings and scenery on the entry to Douglas.)
Wouldn't it be fitting if it were released at the start of the 2019 TT, 25th May?

Just noticed that date would also be one day short of 9 years since this thread was started. :D:  GPL time is crazy!

Given I'm still upset I missed the Isle of Man TT game on sale on Steam last week, this is a good substitute.

Thanks for pointing me to the other thread. Very interesting reading. I just love all this technical stuff about the art and science of building circuits for racing sims! Mr. Pearson is one of the Grand Masters, if not the GOAT!

Jim is definitely the GOAT.

First track I ever drove in GPL his original Isle of Man. Came to GPL late (2002 or so) and a friend pointed me to it, so I got GPL, and Jim's track, and spent an hour trying to actually get around the thing. (This was back when I was still playing with a gamepad!!!)
