Another Formula 2 non championship race due to be held at Montlhery on the 17th September, was the 'Coupes de Paris,' a longstanding annual event however, in 1967 organisation was poor it seems and the Montlhery Club ended up setting their date for the same race weekend (although different race days) as the 1967 Oulton Park Gold Cup non championship F1 race which included allowance for F2 entries. I would imagine the Gold Cup held more attraction to teams, not least because of greater prize money no doubt and perhaps just a little prestige. So the F2 Montlhery event was cancelled and rescheduled for a week earlier on the 10th September but the F2 race was subsequently replaced with an F3 entry instead although the race was still called the 'Coupes de Paris'. I happened to find the real programme cover, which is quite rare, for the rescheduled 1967 Coupes de Paris event and all I have done is changed the date from the 10th to the originally planned 17th September.
So if you'd like your 1967 F2 season to include the cancelled Montlhery F2 event you can now have a programme cover to go with it when you go racing. The Gold Cup race took place on the Saturday 16th, so we can imagine if we'd like, the guys packing up after Saturday's Cheshire race in England, hurring down to Dover to take the overnight ferry to Calais, before driving up to Paris early next morning ready to race at Montlhery.
