No, brr is no longer active here, some tests were done with a 72fps patch by Lee...

Sad to hear that!...with a proper 60fps AI a new generation of GPLers can be possible. I don´t see another big wall that keep people like me reticent to make GPL a full time racing sim.
Even only for hot lapping it's a tremendous ride :D
I have read here about a new demo installer...and a poll to find which tracks must be included, time ago...but FPS is not just a cosmetic issue, is cuestion of eyes care :D so in any sim it´s must have!

:(

i can only offer my time for testing and twiking...

Pete, do you feel the same as Diego and Axel about the eye strain issue with using the standard 36fps GPL?  I believe that you've said that you do full races with the AI.  Do you 'pause' at some point (or points) in a race to rest your eyes?  Do you experience eye strain?  I have run many, many full races and have never noticed any eye strain.  This is from an old fart with 66 year old eyes.

(Ha! Re-reading this, it sounds like Jean-Pierre speaking to Pete Aron)

I wonder if this is a "Well current race sims run at 60fps, so the old GPL's 36fps must be inferior."

Yes, I made a beta 72 fps patch which seemed to work OK offline in training mode.  However, the AI didn't work well at all during a race...same issues as with the 60 fps patches.  Don't remember trying the 72 fps patch online.

Thanks for all your mods and papers Lee

I have to ask at which speed GPL cycles the physics at 36 vs 60 fps...

You're welcome.  :)

The player physics always runs at 288 Hz regardless of fps.
