Hi Guys,

last time round I did a video featuring Reiza's amazing incorporation of the MC Laren MP4/12 F1 1997 car into its latest sim title Automobilista 2!

This car was equipped with a second brake pedal, which helped the drivers to prevent oversteering through middle speed corners as well as wheelspins out of slow corners, resulting in faster cornering speeds in general.

Take a look while I am going on some first laps using this unique and very useful feature within the 1997 F1 MC Laren MP4/12 at 1991 Silverstone!

It was a very special experience that you can see over here: https://www.youtube....h?v=rLZ3FW_yMh4.

Tell me what YOU think about it and if you even knew the existence of this feature in real life F1 back in the days!?

Thank you very much for considering and watching!

Enjoy!

Cheers,

I think it's total nonsens. For what? Who in the world is really glad that THIS feature is out now? How many racers have a third pedal available? 10%? 20?
They rather should bring an update for the Turbo era F1 cars to make adjusting the boost while driving possible (as it was in AMS1). Or work on more historic tracks. Bring some LIVE on the track, with waving flags, track marshals, savety cars, tow truck and so on.

Yes, I think this is not a mass desired feature, for sure. But it shows the accuracy with which Reiza works even on such maybe "not so highly requested" details. But it's a sort of mirror, you know, of their way to act towards certain details. And historic tracks, you can't say, they are not working on releasing a lot of them, they already have and will continue with other in the future. And concerning "to bring live on track", they said to me that they will inplement track marshals, waving flags ecc. further on, following the grandfather of those things, that is Geoff Crammond. So a lot to expect from Automobilista 2 and Reiza Studios, generally. I don't think that we can talk about "total nonsens", here...

It's nice that someone bothered to go to the trouble to make this so that most people, who never got to drive the real thing, now can experience what it was like. The most recent version of the GPL sports car mod has a similar thing where the clutch pedal  is used to control the rear wing angle of the Chaparral which had an automatic gearbox. Why not! It's never a bad thing to add to the realism of a sim.

This is spot on argumentation! Thank you, Marco!

Yes I agree with Marco, and as you see in my avatar this wing pedal is the best thing for me.

I gain 3-4 seconds in Spa67 using this gimmick ;)

No, this is something complete different. We have the 1967 Sportscar Mod and the rear wing of the Chap is adjustable to add a special feature to this car and bring some spice to the mod. I would agree if we had all 1997 cars in AMS2 and they would add this feature to the McLaren, but that is'nt the case. The 4/12 is a standalone car in a group of non licensed opponents with the same performance.

Imo AMS2 missed the chance they had. This mixture of non licensed content combined with many unknown tracks on top of the PCARS2 engine is dead by it's release. Reiza made a huge mistake not trying to get a license for a race series. Just have a look what people buing and racing online. Twitch is full of ACC and F1 2019/20 and iRacing streams, this is exactly the content users will race online together. They want to be part of the Ferrari team or race a Lambo GT3 car against each other. Nobody need a F1 V10 Gen1 car, of which nobody can say what year or brand this car is based on. I've just checked AMS2 online 10 minutes ago, 13 (!!!!!) people online.

It is a pity, i've spend a lot of money for the complete game last year (100+USD), and i am a bit disappointed to get the AMS1 content together with the PCARS2 bugs and rain. Sorry.

I am sure you all heard of the upcomming BTCC game (in 2021)? I promise you, this will be a huge success in sales and online racing. Single series with a license and all the matching tracks is what people want to race.

Cool idea, but I wonder how many simracers are willing to add another proper brake pedal (instead of using a clutch) to their setup just for this one car.
Only guys likes this I suppose :P https://www.youtube....h?v=fxOPI9TggDs
