Hi lads,

I just installed this update and it works great! It's amazing to see 3d rims also in mirrors, BUT I have a problem.
It works on all cars except the Lotus. Why? Am I the only one? What should I do?

Enzo used to say race cars don't need mirrors. It doesn't matter who's behind you. :)

I always turn off 3D wheels in the mirrors. It seems like a waste of fps for something that just gets a quick glance now and then.

Sorry, but I have no idea why the Lotus doesn't show. Most of the time the Lotus is in front of me. Jimmy sure is a quick lad.

Ahahah well I almost agree :D :D it is nice and it adds immersion to see rims in 3d in mirrors, it was odd to see them in 2d, but it's something you are not staring to during a race of course ;) well, Jimmy is fast, Graham on the other hand... :P

Anyway, lads HELP :)

I only have this set. It's from the gplpsInstaller.
Not sure if it works with all cars!

Attached File  3D_Rims_In_Mirrors.rar   345.96K   25 downloads :hat-tip:

EDIT: This patch is only for the 67er standard cars. It seems, this will not work with the 67er historical mod.

Regards

Thank you Hans :) I managed to solve the problem by uninstalling and re-installing the Lotus. Now everything works fine! Must have made some mess during the years :P now I fixed it.

So, problem solved :) thanks everyone!

Hi guys,

I've been reading around a bit. If I get it right, the 3D-Rims-In-Mirrors does not exist for the 65-mod. Is that a fair assumption?

Thanks,

Tom

I've never seen it, but the wheel in mirror is just a texture applied to the mirror as far as I know. You could try and modify one of the other mods wheel in mirror files to fit the 65s

There are a few things concerning mirrors.  :)

1.)  What you see when you look into the mirror as you drive.  The mirror image can be 'clear' meaning you only see what is behind you.... or there may be a fixed image of your rear tires/suspension/wing/exhaust that partially blocks your rear view.  This image is painted onto the mirror.  This is not implemented on all mods.
2.)  Part of the above is the actual image of the other cars that you see in the mirrors as you drive.  3D / 2D wheels/tires are what you see ON the other cars.  This is NOT a function of the mirrors, but of the wheel's 3do structure on the car that you SEE.
3.)  Finally, from an outside-the-cockpit view there may be a plain surface on the mirrors OR a fixed image of a reflection of that car's body/windscreen/driver painted onto the mirror.  This is not implemented on all mods

Thanks for the feed-back guys.

What I was referring to is Gliebzeit's second point. 3d rims in the mirror on the other cars.

There are some files to have those in 3D on the 67-cars. But those obviously do not work on the 65-cars. I haven't come around such files for the 65-cars so I guess they do not exist.

Thanks for the feed-back.

Tom
