Hi all!!!! :wave:
Down to 18 tracks for my total rank & need to find the reverse track utility to covert Portland for the Seaside track.
Any ideas where to find it & also instructions on how to use it. :think:
Checked here & wiki and don't see it unless it's called something different. :confused:

Here you go Rich.

**From the readme file included
The simplest way to run the program, is to first change directory to
your gpl\tracks directory then run it giving the directory of the track
you want to reverse.  Eg. if your GPL is installed in E:\Sierra\GPL and
you wanted to reverse monza, you would do:-

E:
cd \Sierra\GPL\tracks
gplrev monza

This will create a new track directory, with a name the reverse of the
existing one (in this case, it would be 'aznom').  This might create
some strange directory names, but they are unlikely to exist already.

I downloaded & tried both versions & have a problem
I downloaded them twice just in case there was something wrong with the download since sometimes files can get corrupted when downloading
Unzipped them
Put the exe in my track folder & neither one works
What it's doing is that it will open for just a second & then close it self
Probable something wrong with my computer that it won't run the program properly

When I get home I will send you my Seaside folder via PM. That should get you out of trouble, maybe about 2 - 3 hours or so and I will be home.

GPL Reverse need a fix for WIN 7.
And is possible GPL Inverse, just look in a mirror and you understand, so multiple for 2 all tracks (normal and reverse.
593 original tracks plus 593 reverse tracks and plus Inverse tracks (593 original tracks plus 593 reverse tracks) almost 2500 tracks.
Is it possible?

I guess GPL reverse will need a fix for WIN 7/8/9/10/11/12/13/14/15/16/17 and so on.
Easier to downgrade to win 3.1 than wait for a fix to that ;)

This is something that I played with some time ago but as others have found compute upgrades have rendered it un-useable.
Some tracks reverse better than others i.e objects that re meant to be viewed in one direction do not work when viewed in reverse.

The ones I still have on a backup drive are:
Dundrod = dordnuD
nurburg = grubrun
miloval = lavolim
IofMan = naMfoi
monaco = ocanom
spa = asp


I thought I had rouen as well but couldn't find it.
I'll have to search out the season ini entries for each
(I'll move them to my current GPL installation hopefully today to test)

I can always make them available if required (with some help)

It would be great if an expert could step in and fix the utility PLEASE :bowdown2: I think  we can all think of some we would like to try.

I just tried with Rouen and in one click it created neuoR. Some glitches going reverse but The track is totally fine; also the AI runs well.
I have win7 64b. but I also have an older laptop with XP installed.

Who has win7 or 8; you just need the little program and the folder you want to reverse, put it on a memory stick and bring it to a friend with an win XP computer, is a matter of 1 minute and you have your reverse track on your memory stick to install on your win 7 or 8 system :)

I have tested the ones I have.
ocanom is with the original GPL graphics; works well but ai have difficulty negotiating the hairpin at the start, after that it's fine.
aps is again with the original GPL graphics (replaced horizon and BAPOM program) ai runs a treat and is good for racing.
grugrun as for aps but has some holes in the scenery which I've tried to hide using fog but not very effectively.
lavolim is a clockwise oval and when reversed it is still an oval but anticlockwise (why did I bother?) However it runs fine.
naMofI won't work and I don't know why.  Cannot load track message.
dordnud has some issues.  The cars in the pitlane are in a ditch so shift+R is required to drive.  Some 3D object issues with one tree overhanging the road, pop-up problems going up Deer's Leap and through to Leathams Town, otherwise fun to drive.

Where do we stand uploading these?  Moderator help and advice required please.

I think is better not to upload them since some are the original PAPY and with the tool they can be reverted back to original state.
The others are just duplicates. You can use PM eventually but the best thing is just check your neighborhood for an XP machine to work on for one minute :)
