I'm thinking of buying a second PC tower online. It comes with the XP OS and pretty cheap at £20 UK pounds. It doesn't have any monitor keyboard or mouse. Not sure about power leads and anything else I need?

That is a question if all I get is the tower, what else do I need and look out for?

You may think I'm doing the wrong thing by getting an old PC tower but then again you might think good move? What do you all think. Any tips welcome.

Specs:

Shuttle X
Retro Vintage Gaming PC
Windows XP installed fresh

Computer includes the legendary ATi Radeon 9600 Pro, 128MB, suitable for all games from the era.
Will Play Half Life 2, Doom 3 etc.

Pentium 4 Processor, 2GB DDR RAM

Shuttle X Includes SATA Ports for expansion (I was running this with an SSD and it was very fast)
80GB IDE Hard Drive
Sony DVD-RW, CD-RW
Floppy Drive
Built in WiFi
Built in 5.1 Audio with Optical Input and Output, Front Audio
Serial Port
4X USB 2.0
2X Front USB 2.0
Firewire 400 on rear, Firewire 800 on front
Ethernet

Great idea. Get it before someone else does.

Might have to find still XP-compatible hardware with some kind of software/driver support?

Pic of reason for updating floppy drive on WinME tower.
99.9% of them are GPL downloads.
:D

Nice box of tricks John. If I manage to pick up the tower I'm going to have to remind myself how to operate the floppy discs 🤔🤔

Thanks John 👍😁

I would suggest invest in a decent sized (250 gig) SSD for about £30 and try to get around 8 gig of ram, then get hold of a copy of Windows 7.
That should give maximum performance increase for minimum outlay.

Giving you enough change for a full Bodnar/Heusinkveld steering wheel/pedal setup.......

Or maybe not....

Good find by the way.
