This year it's being held in Peru

You can also watch the games on Sky Sports 1 if you're in the UK at least. Let's hope they do better than Portugal in the Euro Cup.

Now I'm off to watch Peru slaughter Bolivia. They bloody well better!!

No. That was ridiculous, wasn't it?

I'm quite disappointed. 2-2 final score. Bolivia were the supposed underdogs of the whole tournament and Peru were losing 2-0. They only just equalized near the of the match  This is THE supposed revitalized team that thought they could approach the 70's team, hah! Oh well, seems like Peru will do just as well as Scotland have done recently.  :ahh:

Yeah I remember him. He was a bloody good player.

One of my favs from the seventies was Rivelinho.
I used to practice taking free kicks for hours after watching him and guess what I was still crap ha ha :D

The thing was that, that 70's team only had 7 good players. And bloody hell were they good, to be able to carry the rest of the team to where they got to. Yeah Cubillas was a marvel to watch. He did have that magic touch that few players achieve. I could say that today Ronaldo(Portugal) is/will be the player with the magic feet.

Teofilo Cubillas !! Rivelinho !! we could also add Gerson, Tostao and many others to that list ... there were fantastic football team in the 60s and 70s in South America. Even Uruguay had great players then    I still can recall the final match of the Mexico ' 70 World Cup, when Brazil defeated Italy ... omg !! sometimes football is a fantastic sport.

About the Euro2004 .... well, the fact that Greece won the title says it all ....    quite disturbing  :(

I remember Gary Linekers speech there lol ,

"football is a game with 22 players ,3 referees and a ball and in the end germany wins"

somehow he is still right with that  :D , even though only greeks coach is a german

the greeks played old german school soccer and whenever a german team played this style with hungry players they were pretty good.
It isnt our style to do trick over trick with the ball. so was the greeks during euro 04

this style is pretty unactractive but hey , "Successful is who wins"

Good ole' Gary always seems to come up with good ones.

Well, last night Peru were playing Colombia (the trophy holders) and we were losing 2-0 and the guys somehow managed to get the finger out and actually equalizedin the last quarter of the match. So far Columbia had manager to not concede a goal since the beginning of the qualifiers for the tournament. But Peru did it!! Unfortunately we came second in the group which probably means playing Argentina and there I don't hold out too much. It's not that they're great this year, but our track record against them is abismal, even when we beat Brasil 3-1, we lost against Argentina by a Stupid amount. (I don't remember seems like there's a gap somewhere :P )

See you next time

Well, Argentina beat Peru 1-0 so Peru is now out of it. It was an interesting match rather than enthalling to watch. It was kinda predictable that Argentina was to win; at least Peru was not beaten by more than that. Now we just have to see who wins ;)
