i was able to connect to the host server last week... now last nite i get an error message saying 'cannot connect, server refuses connection'
i talked with the server admin and i was told the problem is not on his end.

my provider is comcast - but i can't see how anything (changes) they might make, would affect an FTP connection, especially when everything else is working.
win10 did have a recent update (creator?)  but i also have a pc with winXP and when i tried to connect from it, i got the same error.

is there something else i could try? or check?
does anyone have a server i could 'test' connecting to via FTP?

i'm lost and approaching desperate ~
thanks!

Bo, this is a web site that also has a good test ftp site.

You can log in as anonymous and upload anything to test your upload speed.

The web site - http://speedtest.tele2.net/

Their ftp site - ftp://speedtest.tele2.net/

thanks Greg - i don't have an issue downloading, but it 'was' connecting to a known server via FTP and uploading files.
in any case, its been resolved so all is well ~

still appreciate the reply!
