A couple of quick questions about the Track DB.

1.  Is it me, or does the track DB not work correctly when using browsers such as Safari (on Mac OS X)?

2.  On Magnus' track DB website it used to be possible to formulate a link like:

http://trackdb.d2g.c...s.asp?D=Mosport

and get a page with just Mosport.   Is there a way to achieve this with this site?  I'd like to modify our League's schedule page to link to information for each track used in a particular season (so as to ensure everybody downloads the correct version of the track...)

Thanks for this great resource!

Monty,

1. Don't know. Don't have a Mac and you're the 1st person to comment on that. Let's see if someone comes along and comments.

2. Yes. http://gpltd.bcsims....p?track=mosport
(Where mosport = track folder name  ;)  )

Have you tried firefox v2 on the Mac OS X?

EDIT: Have just received info that it's not just you as someone else tried safari and encountered probs but he uses firefox primarily so hadn't noticed a problem.

Dangermouse,

I was just filling in a few missing GEMPics in my collection and I noticed the following tracks have broken (GEMPic) links.

Longhall
Ovil (Liechtenstein)
Ruurlo
Indy Raceway Park

thanks again for maintaining this vital database.

Webfoot.

I was looking for a GEM+ pic for Rouen Winter and noticed the track does not appear in the ATD.

Very silly mistakes now corrected. Thanks for letting me know, sorry for having cocked it up.  :(
(You can always try clicking on the picture place holder in GEM to see if you can get it that way.  ;) but always appreciate being told so I can correct it.)

The track was recalled and a new version with a slippery surface will be released sometime in 2007. (If you click on the picture place holder in GEM you can get it that way).

Unbelievable! Finally I installed all the GPL tracks  available through the Track Database. :lol1: More than 500. It's been almost a year, downloading them with my 56kb, getting in contact with some people like David Noonan, doing a pair of laps (or just one) in each track and creating OpenGL patches that have been linked into the GPLTD.

The GPLTD is a really valuable site. I can't imagine how could I have found all the tracks without it. :report: Many thanks to Magnus, Bill Cooper, Keith and everyone who has contributed to it. :notworthy: I’m glad to be now part of them with my OpenGL patches! ^_^

I was looking for tracks made by Sergio Loro and I see many trackmaker names are repeated in the drop-down menu.

If I chose the first one which is only "Sergio Loro" it shows all tracks made by him and along with others.  If I choose the next one "Sergio Loro and ..." I get different combinations of authors as I go down the list, but I can't see what I'm selecting until the results come up.  Maybe for simplicity you could make only one entry for each trackmaker which will show all collaborations.

Gawd, you're picky!  :P

The reason is that the list you look at is compiled from the database so if a new author comes out with a track then he/she will be automatically listed rather than entering into another field. The reason you can't see the other authors in the list is because of space. It's a compromise we felt most could live with as it only happens with very few authors.

Would it be possible to add search criteria so that someone could search for all Alpha tracks and all Beta tracks?

I had a look through to see what Alpha's and Beta's are actually available for the first time the other day and some of them look very interesting and thought it would be cool if i could filter them out easily when i try out a few of them in the not too distant future B)

Sandown International Raceway  1968  Sandown link doesn't work for me, suggest it is changed to http://www.tasman-se...gpl/sandown.asp.

(I assume this is the correct place to post a message like this ?)

Sorry about taking so long to get back to you.
It is the right place. That link also works but the one we are using is the one listed by the author. We have had/seen no other complaints about that link......... Strange.

I have now updated all the converted tracks to link to either the, now available at the database, free demo converters or the full converter that was released by D Noonan free to all at the USPits.
