Have a look here:
GPL Easy Installation Guide v1.6.1 (English)
-> scroll down to "2.3. Download and Installation of GPL Mods"
There you will find working links for all mods.

Is the "GPL_67_Patch.zip" (5.3meg) needed with the newest installer?
What does the 69 Extra mod do?
Probably a stupid question but, as this is the first time I'll have multiple GPL installs (currently three but will soon remove one), is there a way to make GEM default to the install from which it is run? (So I will not have to remember another setting to change.)

Thank you for your hints. To the last item: Switching off some of the pribluda info is what I tried yet. But the very uselful trackposition display for its own slows down the system, not the times or temp displays.
Using different rasterizers will be tried and reported. The GPU (AMD Radeon 6800 series) uses 3 D and AMD optimizations. The fans increase their rpm using GPL remarkably. My CPU (Intel core i5-2400 x 4 @ 3,1GHz) seems to run at full speed. Know a tool to check that, maybe with windows functionality?
Gonna test your suggestions, thank you!
To control your system I recomment the OpenHardwareMonitor
Run the OHW plot with CPU and GPU load in background when running GPL and look if anyone idles...
I just made a test with very old hardware and pribluda...

That's the most up-to-date version of the original 1967 GPL exe. It includes the latest updates such as the long track patch (for Targa, Tandil etc). If you run the 1967 cars from GEM, that's the exe file it will use.

Anything with gplc..exe is a modified version.
