Hello Rudolf!
Nice to see you back!

If you are looking for a nice GPL online league, GPLRACER is still around. ;)

Jim, I have been away for... a couple of years... I have nice memories when we wrote emails (I asked for permission to use your beautiful Dundrod track back in 2005 or so). And therefore I was aware of your work on this masterpiece.
I am lost for words you finally did it! Seems I have chosen the right time to return to GPL :)
This is astonishing !

Hello Rudolf

Great to hear from you again.

I'm glad you are enjoying my work, just as I  always enjoyed your video artistry on Dundrod and the Little Madonie intro.

Tme has certainly flown since you and I  last corresponded on "A Day In Heaven".

All the best.

Jim.

Hello Jim

Although I don't write it every week I wish you to know: I admire your work every time I see it in the list of tracks and even more when I drive some sections or a whole lap.

Thank you again.

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Yes it is really nice indeed, Stefan. However I think I was never completely away as GPL was always my one and only sim. Honestly I was not into simracing very much at all.
Thank you very much for your kind offer! Racing at GPL Racer was always fantastic. And I would love to chime in. Would it also be possible to participate as a guest as I am a "full-time" team member at oAo.
That was very appealing to me as I have never been racing the 67 before and that is really a great challenge. Of course I still love the 65s

Thank your very much for your kind response Jim. Your are definitely right about the flow of time... But as I mentioned it is so great you could finish the complete Isle of Man. You must have felt exhausted from time to time. It is so hard to work for so long on such a project and don't lose motivation. You have my full respect!
Right now I have no time for moviemaking at unfortunately this can also be rather time consuming but I would be very glad to make a GPL clip illustrating the beauty of your work! But of course I will contact your for permission and maybe you have some good advice or even better some replays?
Till then merry Christmas and a happy new year

Hi Rudolf.

Again, what a great video!
I realy hope and wish you find time to create a IOM promo.

To help you with that I have one replay for you.
At the moment It's the fastest mod 65 lap posted at  http://gplrank.schue...showIndivTrack2

Sadly it's the only one I have due to CTD problems leaving the track.

Happy new year.

There is a '67 replay of mine installed when using the track installer.

Thank you very much Pedro and Jim. This is such an unbelievable track and so hard to learn. So the replay are not only helpful for moviemaking. I will watch you with a cold beer in my hand as well :)

<Lapsed GPLer shamefully late, but now addicted....>

Jim, this is even better than I expected from the previews.  To bring such a complex course to life with this level of accuracy, detail and beauty in dear old GPL, is simply amazing -- and best of all it's electrifying to drive!

I love the physical road surface, the bumps and fine altitudes, the terrifying sense of speed from the overhanging trees and hard shadows, the variable road widths and intricate kerbing, the perfect flow of the lap -- it's as thrilling as I'd imagined from watching the superbikes.

I keep wanting to stop the car to figure out how you've made the foliage so lifelike and three dimensional, so seamless.  It blows my mind that you've sustained this ground-breaking standard for nearly 40 miles!  The accuracy of the routing and landscape and buildings is equally impressive.

My fave sections:

- accelerating out from Union Mills and hurtling through Ballagarey, Crosby and up to the Highlander, what a rush!
- the whole section from Doran's to Sarah's Cottage, wonderful flow when you hook all the bends together, and beautiful leafy scenery
- Barregarrow top and bottom -- epic
- drifting through Quarry Bends with the bumps rattling the steering wheel
- the sequence of fast bends between Churchtown and Parliament Square
- the triple apex left-hander at the 32nd milestone, blows my hair back
- dropping past Kate's Cottage to see the iconic view towards Creg-Ny-Baa -- you can smell the sea!

But it's all fantastic, thanks so much.  I'll be enjoying this for a very long time.

Thanks Phil.

You obviously have some familiarity with the real track.

Its pleasing to hear that my long efforts to replicate the micro environments and feel of the roads in real life can be appreciated to that extent.

Best wishes and have fun with it.

Make sure you try out some of the different options and environments as well.

:)
