I'm trying to do some texture editing of the Keimola track and I've run across a problem when trying to edit the pit textures.  It's best illustrated by the following screenshots.

This is a shot of the pits with the Jason Peters hi res texture pack:

And here is the pits after my editing:

Try as I might, I can't find any mip which changes the square orange texture on the pit wall.  I've changed all of the "pitXX" mips and nothing works.  I've looked at all of the other mips in the folder and there's nothing remotely that color.  I'm at a complete loss here.

The only thing I can think of is that the 3do  for the pits must be colored orange, if that is possible?

Or is there something obvious that I am missing?

Thank you for any help.

Yes, there are 3D polygons that have a base color .... without a mip mapped onto them.

Hmmmm... so you want that section to be solid white.  Is that correct?  If so, I will see if I can find someone to mod that polygon color. :)

Oh, if you would send me your mips (pit01-pit07) I can use them to do the test color change.  Send them in a private message, if you like ... or here.

Well, I actually got 3DOedit to work for me today.  Hope this helps.  :)

A small program called 3doEd(it)

Go here and download the file 3doedS.zip : http://gplr.srmz.net...hp?showtopic=87

I guess I should have been a little clearer.   I have 3doed and use it to view all the 3do files I want to delete from a track with a transparent .3do.  But I still haven't figured out how to actually edit a 3do.  Or change its color.  The menu's pretty bare bones.

Unless you use this particular version of 3doEd, you will not be able to 'save' edits to 3do files.  To edit parts of 3do files once loaded, you double click on the part and then use the Edit function from the menu that pops up.

OK, I see.  You have to manually change the color RGB values when the edit window pops up.  I thought clicking on the color from the color palette would do it but it didn't change the RGB values.  I guess I should have figured that out.

Thanks for the guidance!

Looking forward to an update here.  Rarely hear of Keimola any more, but it is a fun track, long one of my favorites.  Sadly the real track suffered an ignominious end.
