I have a G25 and sometimes, on Monza for example, I have quite violent shocks in the force feedback, in a straight line, without explanation ...

I think the FFB2 patch is installed for me. I have it clicked in the mod list in GEM+ which makes me think it is installed and working.

We have threads here about people having problems
What are your settings in GEM - controler?

I've always assumed it corresponded to FFB. Having never used a FFB wheel, I've never been able to confirm that theory.
If it's something that can be turned off, I'd love to know how as it doesn't seem realistic.

I suspect this may to a degree be system dependent; I experienced these jitters on my first FF wheel, at times much more pronounced than mere jitters, but same wheel on a new system never had the problem.

I have a G27 and I am used to have this "jittery" in very long "curved" straights e.g. the long Waldgerade to the Ostkurve at Hockenheim.
Once you know what causes this you forget it.
It is in the logi firmware and imo it is less in linux than in windoze.
So you should look for the strength of the FFB in the controls and use maybe a higher value...

I don't recall any wheels that supported FFB in 1998, and there is no mention of "Force Feedback or FFB" in the official support documents ("Grand Prix Legends" and "Grand Prix Legends - Four-Wheel Drift").

I think some posters are misunderstanding the problem. This is not jitters in the physical force feedback that you can feel. This is jitters in the on screen wheel animation while you are pointed straight.

I am talking about the tactile feeling in the wheel wich maybe is visible when you have the wheel shown in game - I don't...

I now have a T300 which does not have the problem, maybe because it is belt driven.

I prefer FFB2 as it is not as harsh as 3, but test it yourself, Fleurke uses afaik 3
You are right as long as you look at those strange settings of latency and damping people use.
Petteri did remove all effects not produced by physics and gave us ffb2 and ffb3(beta!)
