Hello and greetings from Finland.

I´ve been developing some kind of racing game for awhile in my spare time. The game is supposed to have some classic cars to race with. At the moment I have this fictional 60´s F1-like car and really raw fictional track. I´m not planning to get any licensed content at the moment cos I don´t have too big budget to spend.
Im developing this with Unity 3D and it uses Unitycar physics package which is trying to simulate real behaviours.
The game is in DX11 mode atm. 3D work and putting all together done by me.

Heres latest youtube video for you to see:

And if you would be kind to give some feedback, no matter if its good or bad :)

Cheers.

Interesting, though there doesn't seem to be a sense of speed - whether that is the track or because it's a video would be interesting to know.

Yes that is one point that needs adjusting. Sure adding track side elements might add some sense of speed. Also it can be tweaked with camera FOV and game engine timestep. Which reminds me that have to check my timestep :D

Thanks. Yeah one man band here so can´t say when this will be released. I mainly cover 2d/3d pretty nicely, coding I still have a lot to learn but have to tweak this better bit by bit.

When I get the track in better shape (more detailed) have to start adding basic AI driver there and maybe investigate a bit of network connections.

Heh thanks. Im sure its going to be quite interesting and challenging track :) The layout was designed quite fast but sure its going to be something nice when I get more details added.

Also no stress about comparing it to check the accuracy :D

Btw does anyone know what would be fuel consumption of Lotus 49 for example and maybe what size fuel tanks (in liters) these late 60´s machines had? Haven´t found much info about these yet.

Also I´m not expert how oil pressure should behave on certain RPM so I cannot say if my fake oil press gauge is showing any realistic numbers there :D So if someone would be wiser about this matter any information would be helpful. The problem atm is that the physics engine doesn´t support real oil pressure value so I had to fake it taking the needle movement with RPM value and limiting it a bit.

Decided to update the driver model a bit because the current one isn´t really suitable for this "60´s era" scene.

I have to re-do the steering animations for the hands so might as well use better model.

I´ve also added some details to the track but I will do another video when I have something to show. I think I should get me a track modeler some day :D

Here´s our driver, I´ve used a bit smoothning for some edgy parts here. Still have to remap the suit, gloves and stuff like that.
