This is one I had not seen yet. I thought many of you would like it. It appears to focus on the 1973 F1 season. There is a lot of interesting footage. I don’t care much for the gruesome footage but it was the nature of the beast.

I loved this this quote,

“The Europeans have always been crazy about auto racing. The South Americans even crazier. The Americans are just crazy.”

That reminded me of GPL. I don’t have the passion many Europeans and South Americans do but that doesn’t mean I’m not crazy too. :)

Thanks for the link JMF. Unfortunately can't get tubitv.com in Europe because of EU laws.

There's a link here on Vimeo. Not sure but I think it's the same film? 🤔

My apologies guys. That's the same video. Tubi looks at little better at 480 versus 240.

Thanks Greg, a great film, fantastic screens of the drivers and races.
I had seen parts of the Cevert interview and most of the fatal accidents were live in TV then...

Pretentious, over-dramatised Hollywood bull ::crap::  as usual from America. They treat death as entertainment and try to get as much detail of the accidents as possible. If an accident isn't "dramatic" enough for them, they enlarge the shots and show them in slow motion so we can all enjoy watching someone die in greater detail. Nauseating. :yuk:

I liked it. There's also a torrent of the dvd around somewhere on PB. (I know because I watched it last year).

I didn't mean to irritate you Saiph. I understand your sentiment. I tried to ignore that bullcrap. I really liked the good footage of the drivers, cars, tracks.

Axel, I had seen some of the interviews but not all of them. I liked them a lot too. Cevert's death was a real tragedy like Clark's. Men with such fascinating lives with so much to look forward to.

It's sucks that tubitv is pain for Europeans to access. I was recently reading Consumer Reports magazine about these "free" TV sites. It was the only one I thought could be interesting. You have to wade through a lot garbage but there is some interesting stuff. They got another one called Matra Racing that is good. I think there's some about James Hunt too. I haven't watched them yet. I had been wanting to watch Gasland about fracking in the US for a long time. I finally got to see it. Super Size Me was another one I had wanted to see for many years. It's about a guy that eats nothing but McDonald's food for 30 days. I knew it would be bad for him but it was worse than I imagined.

Saiph, if you think The Formula One Drivers was bad, you should see the one they have about US atomic bomb testing. It's disgusting.

Take care guys.

It's ok Greg, I know you posted with good intentions. Good footage of historic motor racing is hard to come by, even in this modern age of YouTube etc. so sometimes you have to put up with some bad presentation to sift out the gems. But when it's bad, it's really bad.
