Yup, read it and still can't see what Kunos are supposed to have done wrong, apart from make their game moddable.

Dunno why you think they've brainwashed us, dunno why you think they're grabbing our money when the prices seem pretty reasonable and the product has sold well. Not sure how long you expect a developer to develop a title for free after release.

Not sure about anything anymore, particularly simracers... I'm outta here, enjoy your simracing folks! :)

It's really simple Rich. On the RaceDepartment forum if you post ripped off content it gets blocked. This forum is the same way. Look at all the mods that are posted on this forum. We know we can trust they're not ripped off.

Why can't AC have the same standards? What I bought was posted on the AC forum and I thought it could be trusted. If you want to continue to back a company like that it's your choice. Just don't expect everybody to feel the same way.

So, now i'm done with this thread. I had my say. This is the GPL forum and i'll stick to that part of it.

Fair enough Pete, hopefully they've taken it off their forum now.... ripped off content is unacceptable  :(

AC support forum is a SUPPORT forum. Mods were never supposed to be hosted, and in fact, starting from the second half of 2015 the forum does not allow you anymore to post mods that are not python apps. This article was posted when Kunos dropped all support to mods in their forum.
Their job was and still is help you if your game crashes or has bugs or they f...ed up something or you want some general guide for developing content. Not checking that only genuine content was posted in sections where that content wasn't supposed to be posted at all. If you guys wanna blame them over some futile accusation made by some lunatic like the PRC guys, go ahead. Just saying, the same guy is on Ian Bell paycheck and says wonder of PCars2 and mayhem of everything else. Someone very trustful right?

You mean like when they put a speedometer in place of a fuel pressure gauge in a F1 car and ignore you when you bring it up. Is that the kind of help the forum is for?

Sorry, I had to come back for this one. Now i'm done with this and AC. Ignore me and then expect me to continue to spend money isn't going to happen.

A fuel pressure gauge is needed in the Lotus 49. A speedometer isn't!

No, it wasn't. That was more than a year ago and I saw a couple of patches go by and it's wasn't fixed. It's still no excuse for ignoring the problem when it was brought up.

No matter. I'll never buy AC2 and that means the version I have will die out. GPL has all I need for a race sim.

That's not it, Leon. That was the official speech they gave as they killed that forum as to not have modding going. Maybe there was something in that nature to get the Porsches or something for a manufacturer, but what they gave was a quick and alternative reality excuse.

Things are progressing nicely. The historical accuracy troops should head on over and assist with getting tire sizes right at least in one historic car.

This is... quite a great render, I must say! :D
I might help with the diffs and general engine curves, but I'm afraid I can't do more, since I don't have much info on that car (pretty shameful for a Ferrarista, I must admit).

About AC, well...
To be blunt about it, the way it IS is why I won't let ANY of my mods be there.

I've talked to Stefano in real life, when he was doing his University tour in Rome: I've had a fair chat with him and he's a bonafide, certified, unparalleled walking and talking piece of stool.
As someone of you might know, I'm studying to get a degree in mechanical engineering: I'm no Forghieri or Chapman, but I can at least have a fairly adeguate idea of what the hell is going on when a car is rolling around on the track, what forces are at stake, what are the variables and so on.
So, on to the chat itself: well, I'll just give you the main points.

1. He'll never do night racing because "Vallelunga is closed at night (SIC!)". When I've asked him that he can ask for a night test since his offices are just at the second floor of the main facility, he looked around embarassed to Marco Massarutto. Same goes with rain: "People will crash too many times".
2. He honestly thinks that engineers are idiots because "I've read many a book on mechanics, you're just studying and parroting them to pass the exam", oblivious to the fact that those exact books are the condensed version of what I'm working on. When I've told him so, he replied with "Yes, but I'm making a PC game, not a car, what do you want from me?"
3. When I've pressed him on accuracy of his creations (models, performances), since it's kinda a big deal when making a simulated car (at least from my profession-wise perspective), he said "We only use the data the Factories provide us: if you can find other data, you're lying". I've asked him about historical modders, like GPL, GTL, rFactor: "I don't know and I don't care: if you guys want to be overly anal with a bit of metal, be my guests."
4. "What about heat and gearbox damages, then?" I've asked. "No car will damage in real life because of it: I never saw a car blow up because of hear or because of a faulty gearbox, not even a FIAT Ritmo."

All I was thinking was:

"ARE YOU RETARDED?"

Yes, since then I pretty much despise that idiot: until him and his henchman will be at the helm, nothing will ever get fixed.

Those guys did their research and there's a .pdf showing some details of the car they built (based on the car seen through Spa). I look forward to driving it in the near future.

Yup, he's a complete through-and-through jerk, a**hole, unpleasant person. He's also got this weird, vengeful attitude that is oddly misplaced. He wishes he could choose what kind of people buy his stuff, and is also very jealous and defensive of unpaid modders who can develop work superior to their in-house stuff. It is like he's such a little man that he does all he can, as much as he can, to try and diminish others (in his head) to make himself feel better. About being at the helm with his poisonous management style, I was actually thinking he'd sell out and quit, then starting another group with the money from Digital Bros since he technically won't be calling the shots.

Mh, I should read the PDF: sounds like an interesting read :)

Let's not factor in the "I'll take your mod, repackage it as DLC and you'll get squat" kind of deal, or I'll start lighting his ass with greek fire Torquemada-like.
