Just wanted to know peoples thoughts of this game. I know its a golden oldie now but have seen some decent reviews online. Thinking of tracking a copy down and installing it. Spotted the game years ago but never occurred to me to buy and play.
I think we know Nascar Racing 2003 is the real Nascar Sim but how does Nascar heat compare. Also seen loads of mods and add ons for the game so would it be worth a purchase.
Talking of other Nascar games I have just re-installed Nascar Sim Racing 05 by EA Sports. Some mixed reviews, negative and positive. What do you think.(PS: I have Nascar Racing 2003 by Papy installed.
So come on you Nascar and sim Racing fans,I would love to hear all your thoughts please.

I recently discovered Nascar Heat.  A different company with a rival prduct, to compete with the Papy Nascars of that era.  It's graphics are good, and many Mods have been made by various enthusiasts.  Visual effects are great.

On the downside, reverse engineering of textures is not possible, unless there lurks a program I've not seen.  A much bigger problem is the cars handling in every make and model made.  They have far too much understeer to be fun!  There's no rearend adjustment available in game, and that makes them very frustrating to drive.

That was my first online racing sim. I had tons of fun with it. I'm sure it will look dated now.

Managed to trace a copy now. Thanks people for replies and info!
So I've installed which was a little tinkering about because of its oldNess.
Patched the game and all runs sweet.
Ye it is a little old and agree with undeesteer but after setting up my gamepad(my wheel be used soon @my room tidy+ordered wheel stand for my logitech gte pro wheel) ye steering with pad is ok.
Also installed heat essentials patch and a mod programme like gem to switch mods.
So installed Craftsmen truck mod and looking at others.
Only problem I can't see setups garage so if anybody can come back with that info it would help.
Ye so pretty happy  with game and outcome with this old game on my windows 8 machine.

Here is a basic guide in updating Nasca heat with what can be achieved. Just in case somebody wants to reinstall or search for a copy of this old classic. Plus links.
