Anyone up for recurring clean non-league lobbies; perhaps for league prep?

I'm pretty sure you can join any server on IGOR to practice driving and no one is going to yell at you during an open practice session.

Thanks Warren and Brocky.
@Brocky, correct AND that's my concern as well being on the US West Coast (PDT/GMT-7) in addition  to being busy with life. But it would be nice to get a semi-regular lobby to gather at some point on the weekends. Practice a bit during the week for a specific fun race that weekend.

Speaking of Igor, whenever I log on I see absolutely no servers. Even after changing the .ini file to blw.
Any suggestions?

Hi GP!

Have noticed it seems most drivers show up between 11AM and 7PM CST, typically between 2PM and 5PM.
(I try to show up every weekday at 3PM-ish).

Easy enough to check the racelist thru-out the day when you have a few minutes to do some laps.
If no one is there, pick an open track and drive a few laps...maybe someone else will see you and join as well.

In the past have made analogy to a pool room in the afternoon.

If no one is there when a customer stops by wanting to play, they may leave rather than wait around.
Still a quiet room, nothing going on.

If they stay, wait awhile, someone else may show up and they can play a game.
If a third patron shows up, they think something is happening and stick around to watch.
If another customer shows up, they see a match and someone watching, and think something is up over there.
Then a few more wander in, wondering if anything is happening.

Pretty soon, its a party!

Happens a lot, not all the time, you just have to be there when it does.
:D

Thanks Cookie for the reminder.

Goggles, change the iGOR address in the igor.ini file, which is located at C:\gplsecrets\igor\igor.ini

Then clicking on desktop icon should bring up racelist with current tracks.

CU on track

Check out http://www.freeleo.hu/weekly/ for when leagues are racing. In the American timezones there are: ADC/VOR, Clandestines, GPArgentina, GPLBrasil, LoPeN, Mybroga, oAo and PanAm, but some of the others might suit as well.

Pickup racing is rare nowadays, but generally drivers will do some online practice for league races on the open IGOR servers around the clock, with John's new server the latest to show regular activity.

Sincere thanks All!
I finally got Igor to work and have entered a lobby. So far only the '67s which is fine. I'll hang out when I have a spell and see if anyone will join for a spin. I'm in contact with Lou from LoPen but the timing doesn't councide. All good.
I keep hearing about a gpl secrets folder. I had vroc, gem and igor all separate so I created said folder and put the three individual folders within. I hope that didn't screw up comms with the files. Stuff seems to be working fairly well but with hiccups.
Cheers.

I was a member of LOPEN many many moons ago! Is Lou still around?

I'm in the mountain timezone and wouldn't mind getting back into some racing.

LoPeN runs on Thursday nights. The practice starts at 7:30 pm and the race starts at 9:30 pm Eastern US time. So I think that would be 5:30/7:30 Mountain Time. There is no password and the races are open to all skill levels. LoPeN stands for League of Perpetual Novices.

The races are strictly for fun with a demolition derby at the end. We run two heats of about 20 minutes with 10 minutes in between so if you miss one you can join for the second one. There is always a yellow flag announced in chat mid-race to bunch the field up again.

All week on iGOR, one of the Halls servers runs the track and mod that we’ll run on Thursday.
