Sounds like this might be worth a try. I don`t have my sim rig set up just now but will give it a look sometime soon.

Good mod for those who can't drive the Papy physics.

I'm back to GPL.

GPL is the one for me, always will be. I can drive it although I`m no Jim Clark. I have to say rF2 is way, way up there for me too. Although there are things to sort out and things still to be implemented it`s an awesome sim imo. I`ve never been that impressed with AC physics in general but I will give this mod the once over when I get my rig together.

I like to run the championship with all the proper cars and tracks. Nobody has it except GPL. It makes my choice easy. Plus I like the Papy physics. I hate cars with too much grip .

Then again, I hunt for elk with an old flintlock Hawken. So, i'm not normal.

I left AC already. I'm playing with PC2 right now. I'm sure in a couple of days i'll be back to GPL.

It's a pattern with me. I experiment and then come back home.

I'm always swapping and changing. Been driving P and G lately, now back driving GPL.

Well one thing is for certain.....AC has one enormous advantage over GPL. I'll let you take a guess as to what it is....

How could this mod for AC be GPL2? How many of the tracks does it have? 2? If it had all the tracks I would think about trying it.

Nice driving Remco...

Just wondering. In your opinion, how are the physics? Good I take it or a GPL`er like you wouldn`t be driving it. Would still like your opinion though.

Graphically it looks good as I`d expect from AC but I have no rig set up atm so it would be interesting to hear your thoughts in general, good and bad.

maybe i was a little harsh with the beta comment

Hey man, thanks. I think this is a very complete mod already and it's not even done yet. Most of the cars are there and the detail in the models is insane!
They're a bit too easy to drive for my taste, I would expect '67s to be a bit harder. But GPL is probably just as far off on the other side of the spectrum.
It's quite easy to win against the AI if you're not showboating like I am here!
I drive with AI at 100, use full tanks for ballast and set braking power to 80%.
There's a lot of grip all around and it can be hard to get the tail out and/or easy to maintain a drift. When I pass that Ferrari, my tyres start to overheat and grip levels drop a bit towards GPL levels. But if you look at the laptimes it's surprisingly accurate, my best here was a 1:25.0.

Thanks Brocky! I was a bit wild for demo purposes :-)
A bunch of '60s tracks are already available with excellent quality, certainly no worse than GPL's 11.
Off the top of my head I'm counting Kyalami, Monaco, Monza, Nürburgring, Silverstone, Watkins and Zandvoort, all '60s. The first two are definitely better than in GPL (Kya turn 2 and Monaco chicane).

Hurrah, just found out it's easy to set reference racing lines for the AI to follow, should make them a lot more natural through the corners where they are terribly slow ATM.

Im very curious about this mod and thinking about buying AC ultimate version with all the packs as its 50% off now. Is it micro transaction based? Do you have to buy tracks and such after buying the game?

When I hear that its easier and with more grip than gpl it makes me a bit unsure , but I really like how it looks. How is the online racing community in AC?

It's really not fair to compare to the original Papy GPL. That was 1998. Compare to the Historic V2 GPL with all the cars, drivers, and tracks included the non championship tracks. Plus, it has the Championship.

AC has a long way to go to be GPL2. I still prefer GPL over the AC mod. I find it much more immersive. It takes a lot more than nice graphics to take over as the new GPL.

I'm more interested in ACC. At least it will be a complete series when it's done.

Thanks for the info Remco. I`ve not actually driven AC for quite a while and my sim rig is not set up just now (house move) but I`ll definitely give it a go when I get my rig up.
