Hi lads,

since the other topic where a possible update for 66 mod with new Dunlop tyres seems to be dead I decided to move into action :P
I made new Dunlop tyres for:

-Brm P83
-Brm P261
-Cooper T81
-Ferrari 246
-Lotus 33 (Climax and Brm)

Starting from Default one, I've made two new different "styles" (look at previews). The one in 'Preview 0" is for all teams said before exception made for Brm P83. The latter, in "preview 01", is for the P83. I tried to be as more historically accurate as I could, trying at the same time to create good textures easy to see and useful to keep track of tyres' rotation speed.
Textures are of the same size as originals, but with more in-color depth, so that they should be slightly better looking while no heavier on framerate.

I've also updated suits for Dunlop teams. I have used Jackseller's suits in combination with arms taken from Thomas Laechele's updates on Eagle and Lotus 49.
I've, then, simply recolored these textures and made them a little more depth in-color as well. Here, again, I tried to be as more historically accurate as I could, while respecting original work of the 66 mod team.

Last but not least, I've updated Team and Player Info menu screen, so to display Dunlop tyres logo for teams which actually show them in-game.

Instructions and Credits are inside the folder.
I hope you like them! Here you go with previews and download :)
Have fun :) :)

PS I did not include any gloves for drivers in this update. If I may, I suggest you to download Dede-Driver's one from 'Misc' section. They are great and they work great on these suits! ;) ;) http://srmz.net/index.php?showforum=23

I know, and I said "I tried to be as more historically accurate as I could, trying at the same time to create good textures easy to see and useful to keep track of tyres' rotation speed" ;)
I have never claimed to have been 100% historically correct :) I must admit (and I have already done that in some other posts) that I'm no expert in racing tyres, but lately I tried to read and learn about the subject the more I could.
From what I know, Dunlop started using more often white lettering from late '66, in order to make their tyres more visible and easy to distinguish so to better fight Good Year's and new Firestone's. So, I decided to portrait the white version over the standard black one since it is also easier to see.

Thank you Pete and Pavel  :)

Why are the Lotus 33 wheels' insides black? I don't think that's intentional? This bugs me because for the other cars the tires work fine.

EDIT: The Lotus 33 Climax.

Mm weird.. it seems more like a 3do problem though, as it is missing the brake calipers and the brake discs, which my mod doesn't touch at all

Actually, for the 1966 Season the Lotus 33 - Climax did not have the yellow wheels as in the past.

No Greg, Krisu meant that the inside of the rims is all black, no calipers no brake discs. Look at my preview pics and confront them with those of Irridux. Weird, because as I was saying I did not touch those

It looks to me like you need to use a type 4 or 5 mip Leon to make that black part of the tyre texture invisible on the Lotus 33. I am guessing the brakes are then behind it.

Yes this is what I meant. You can see it on Leon's preview photos:

Good call

I'll be honest, I don't think I am gonna update this. I'll see what I can do, but again, no promises. Sorry Krisu

Here is the fix for the Lotus 33 Climax to make the brakes visible too.

Copy the files to GPL\cars\cars66\c08 and let overwrite.
