Hi Saiph. The historical update will provide together with historically correct AI entry grids for the ten championship tracks, also all their car skins (and more), as they changed race by race. Furthermore, there will be new player and on-line skins also derived from the historical ones. So it will be plenty of new skins. In order to keep the update easy to be installed there will be new car dat(s).
In the coming days, while waiting for the release of spa67, I might post few shots of some of the new skins for each car folder. Here are some of the McLaren M8D.

GSpinning yours and the teams work on these historical updates will be most appreciated

Looks like some of the screenshots are from the WIP Watkins Glen  and Road America 1971

You are right Larko. I was waiting that someone would notice it. In an effort to improve the historical accuracy, 4 new tracks of the 1971 CA challenge will also soon be available.  A stunning new Road Atlanta by Gaus, a new Watkins Glen by me, a new Road America by Ginetto and a new Mid-Ohio by Silence. The first two have reached the final straight and see the S/F line.  The others are WIP. Meanwhile, here some shots of one of Silence’s beauty of the historical update:  the Shadow MkII.
P.S.: did you notice that the we have introduced the un-winged McLaren M8C (#15, #23, #34) in the same slot of the other winged McLaren M8B/E?

No initially I didn't but had another look today

Are there some mod specific .mip files for St Jovite also?

The Lola T260 of the Historical Update. Not necessarily easy to drive, but fast. Stewart compared it to a "pregnant elephant". It won two races of the 1971 CanAm challenge. ;)

Hey guys
I did some things of my own after the update came out, like the main page with mc laren (photo) or with lola and JS or ferrari with MA.
Also found that in europe they raced the can am cars in something that they called INTERSERIES and even got a calender developed, and I also did some work for that matter,
So G if you or the mod group want them, please let me know in order to handle it in order to help a bit.
Thanks

Jack

Good stuff, Jack. Thank you for your offer, but being a work of the mod team, the goal is to add something to the original version of the mod and possibly amend few inaccuracies, rather than to modify a part of it. The editing work is finished now, but a thorough check and a proper preparation of the update may still require some time.

Of course you can share your work in the forum, now or later, offering the ability to customize the mod.

The Lola looks great Gianfranco !

Also the new Stewart face with clear visor, is this to be a new option ? :)

Dave, the AI drivers will wear the correct helm/visor combination depending from track as per race day. :)

The Lola screenshots look awesome

Is there a new horizon for Laguna 1967?

No Larko, there is not a new horizon for Laguna67. St Jovite  has a new one. Meanwhile few screens of the privateers' Lola T222. There is also a T220. All skins will be available to race on-line too.

Here is the shining Ferrari 712M of Mario Andretti in HR. It was a pity that in real life it raced only at Watkins Glen. But with #35 you can drive it in all the other tracks. :D
On the other hands, there was the privateer Ferrari  512P from Ferrari West, which  driven by Jim Adams raced about half of the Championship. We decided therefore, to paint the body of the 712M with the color and number#76 of Jim Adams’ 512P and add him (and a Ferrari) in the entry list for those races.
