I am formerly known as Punko353 and I am the one who created the 55 mod for rFactor. I set up and ran Team Players Virtual Garage and was the main lead on all the mods we did as well as doing all of the models we did.
First off, I shut Team Players down before we released the 55 mod because I was tired of having my models ripped off.
As far as the wolferl sounds, He came on board late in the mod and offered to do the sounds for the mod. I had already completed the sounds for all the cars and OK'ed him doing them. When he finished them I wasn't crazy about the transitions between sounds and didn't use them. He asked if he could release them for people that wanted them and I said that would be fine.
Unfortunately the mod was never released despite having it about 95% complete.
I just recently decided to go back and redo the models of the 55 mod in very high detail (not for any sim) and that is what brought me here. I will be posting another thread with asking for help on some of the details of the cars, I just happen to see this thread and was surprised that after all this time there is still interest in this mod.
This is my first post here and I am happy to see that GPL is still going strong.
Thanks,
Bob

I knew I had registered here a long time ago but my ID was probably purged because of inactivity so here I am again,
Since you are an admin you can probably direct me to where I should post my inquiry. As I mentioned I am not modding any sims but am still doing 3D modeling and recently decided to start on the cars of 55 F1. Since I have tons of pictures and details of that season I will be able to model the cars in great detail.
What I would like to do is start a thread and ask for help with some of the details that I don't have. I know there are guys here that know far more than I do and from past experience you guys are always happy to help.
Where would you like me to post that?
Also what would you consider to be the best hosting site for pic's? (I see you don't host pics yourself... or did I miss something?)
Thanks for any help you can give.
Bob

I did enjoy the GP37 mod, though I found the Auto Union undriveable at anything approaching racing speeds, and, with all due respects, wolferl's sounds were unimpressive so I made my own (you can't just increase the pitch, timbre, and volume of an idle sound to create a power sound).

I just made a subsection that could work for your plan; go here :

You can attach pictures here but I think the limit of the .jpg for single post is 6 or 8.
You can also post files up to 50 Mb per post IIRC.
Tell me if you need something more and I'll help out

@ginetto, I really appreciate you setting up that section. I would like to ask if it is possible to not have it in the Rfactor section since my models are not going to be for any sim. I am just doing the models because I love this year in F1.
I did manage to set up a gallery and posted one pic to it but couldn't figure out how to get the picture into a thread. I assume I need to upload them to a picture sharing site to post in a thread?
Forgive me for asking these elementary questions, I must not be seeing something that is in plane sight.
Thanks,
Bob

After looking through the forum here I see it may be disruptive to the forum by creating a section just so I can post pics and ask questions so if it works best for you to have me post in the rFactor forum that is fine with me. I didn't really get a thorough look at your setup before asking.

I hope you didn't think I was demanding.
Cheers,
Bob

Bob Russell, on Jan 31 2020 - 02:07 PM, said:
There were a dozen or so of us at Nogrip truly interested in the GP37 mod, and at first we wondered if the physics weren't correct or if we just hadn't yet acclimated to the driving style required, but the fact we all had the same issues, and no one could drive the Auto Union at all, pointed to wacky physics. Sadly none of us had the knowledge to rework the suspension files, tire files, etc., and those on Nogrip with that knowledge weren't interested in working on this mod; so we gradually drifted away from it. But those car models are absolutely gorgeous.
It is doubtful anyone with rfactor physics knowledge will ever work on this mod again .... but I wouldn't complain if some GPL folks thought a GPL '37 mod using those cars was a worthwhile project.

I will see where to place the sub-forum
I didn't understand that it was just 3D models

EDIT
This should be a better fit:
