Hi, just came to install the update did you intend to add Bib Stillwell only to the alternative folder ?, not in the full layout folder ?.

 Drat that is very annoying.  I am blaming the cold weather we had (in England) last weekend, for freezing my brain.  If you look in the bmp folder there are both versions.

New v1.1b with a stillw.pbf image in the layout folder is now posted above.

Hi to all.

I've a problem with sound for tasman 64-68.
Reading the mod file gplt64.cst, all the cars should play the sound fpf and the ferrari the sound 246, both these sound are present inside the sound folder but in the game all the cars play the sound f2f3.wav used for the advanced and basic trainer in GPL67.
The problem is the same for 67-68 because the cars should have the engine 2.5 liters and its own sound, but all the cars play f2f3.
My question is : how can I allow the mods play the sound listed in its XXX.cst ?

Do I need a particular sound manager program or patch?

Thank you in advance.

The physics control what sounds a car in each mod uses. I think maybe that choosing car sounds was going to be built into GEM but was never completed because as far as I know GEM can't be used to change the sounds.

There is no program or patch you can either make a backup and replace the f2f3.wav or select 67 physics.

Hi.
Thank you for your reply, for me it's a mistery, I start tasman 64 and it uses the phisic 65, I open the gpltd64 file installed in the folder MODS -> GEM+ -> gpltd64 , opening this file I read for each cars the sound FPF (it's present in my sound folder) but in the game the cars have the f2f3.wav.

To make the most of Webfoot's seasons files, you have to use the updates that modify the tracks.

Beginner question: Has anyone installed MOD Tasman 65 and had problems with MOD 65?
I tried installing Tasman 65 but realized that some files of MOD 65 would be replaced. I was afraid to damage the installation that I have, because I really like the MOD 65 and would not want to lose it. Thanks!

I had a quick look at the Tasman 65 install.  I can't see any files that would replace MOD 65 files, except maybe the Sound files.  Since it is a manual install (by just copying the files), you could just select "No" to overwriting files. Then your Mod 65 set up would be untouched.  If there were any "shared files" the Tasman install would use the Mod 65 file.  Tasman 65 should still work ok.

Alternatively you could have a separate install for each mod.  I don't do this so I'm no expert on how best to do it.

OK, I'll try to install it without overwriting files and see what happens.
Thanks!!

Edit: I did the installation, initially without overwrite the files. Something went wrong. No stress now...
I got drunk with courage and reinstalled it, this time without overwrite the sound files. Voilà! Everything working, on the Tasman 65 MOD and the original MOD 65 (which I really like). I took advantage of and installed the other Tasman MODs that I did not have before (I already had 64 installed and it's very pretty).
Thanks a lot for the help!!

On this day in history

50 years ago today the 1969 Tasman Cup kicked off with Round 1 at Pukekohe.  It was the final year before the introduction of F5000 cars.  The first four rounds were in New Zealand, followed by three in Australia.  Chris Amon won four races and the championship.  Rindt and Courage shared the other victories.

Erm.... not too soon. Lots of work still to do to the carset. But of course it will be shared.

Not sure if anyone would want this, but I made some semi-historical driver inis for the 1964 tasman series.

I tried to give each race their historical number of participants (as well as historical drivers but that ended up being difficult to do with only 19 drivers, I'm still trying to learn how to paint and add drivers to a mod). So far these are around 65% historical, with New Zealanders taking preference in the first four rounds and Australians in the last four rounds. Car types were also considered. It kind of works, at least now Chris Amon and Tony Shelly change hands over the Lola half way through the season. :idunno:

I'll throw down the rest of the seasons if people are interested.

Thanks to Keido and webfoot for the original driver inis.

P.S. I'm using the tracks laid out by webfoot in his season inis, co Cilce is Longford, Ibla is Pukekohe, etc.

Thanks jerera05.  Will check them out.

The split between NZ and Australia legs of the Cup always gave a problem with the single "composite" driver line up.  By definition it is "historically wrong" mixing NZ and Aus drivers.

If you need any help figuring out how to manipulate car skins and assign drivers, just give us a shout.
