It's working again now.

Here are some addition (better quality) photos for some of the south african tracks from the section i had forgotten to check.

Goldfields / Welkom

Roy Hesketh / Pietermaritzburg

http://cdngiportal.c...3_002_00075.jpg
Even from these low res scans, compared to the previous pics i posted, it looks like they dramatically widened the circuit and also changed angel's angle (and that it's just been resurfaced).

For spain there is this:
https://pnoa.ign.es/pnoa-historico
http://fototeca.cnig.es/

Also for Catalunya specifically, there is https://www.icgc.cat/  for example http://cartotecadigital.icgc.cat/

Quality on fototeca is not the best but it has 1945-46, 1956-57, 1973-86
For some reason the 67-68 images don't seem to be available on fototeca even though they are meant to be. Perhaps they are available elsewhere.

http://www.dadesober...ricano-serie-c#

You can't download images of 45, 56, etc because they were done by the american military but for 73-86 you can download the images but they are still compressed versions of the scans sadly, in EGS format.

The catalunya site has the 67 data for barcelona but annoyingly has the montjuic missing. The image to the west of it only shows the fountain:
http://cartotecadigi...m5kdiba/id/1737
That said, the scan quality is a lot better than the fototeca site.

The 73 imagery on fototeca is nice level of detail but the image quality of the EGS compression really kills it.
A good use for it is Alcañiz.

Pedralbes
1947 (partial but best quality, see image 4):
http://cartotecadigi...s/id/1762/rec/2
1949:
http://cartotecadigi...s/id/1729/rec/1
1967:
http://cartotecadigi...m5kdiba/id/1732
http://cartotecadigi...m5kdiba/id/1733

Remember to also check phototeca, however the quality is not as good, but it has different dates.

Sitges
1948:
http://cartotecadigi...s/id/1524/rec/2
49:
http://cartotecadigi...s/id/1515/rec/1

If anyone can locate where this part is, it would be useful. Apparently it is the east side of barcelona. I think it might be too far east for montjuic and pedralbes, but i can't locate anything:
http://cartotecadigi...s/id/1809/rec/3

Worth checking the Universitaria à Madrid street circuit, the roads have changed quite a bit.

I just stitched together images from the catalunya site, see these:
Montjuic
1949:
https://i.imgur.com/AGhonuJ.jpg

Pedralbes
1949:
https://i.imgur.com/lE0Ssgc.jpg

It's still worth checking out the fototeca scans for other years (56 for example) even though the quality isn't as good. the areas around both changed quite a bit throughout the years, pedralbes being built on substantially.
You can see the palace grounds at montjuic (where the 51 layout went through) change quite a bit.

But yes, for all the fototeca stuff you'll have to look at it yourself, i can't download the pre-73 data and the 73 and onwards is in EGS format that you can only open in a special viewer, so it's not so easy to create images.

Okay, those good quality barcelona photos are not from 1949 as they state. They show Camp Nou even though construction didn't start until 54 and it wasn't opened until 57.
(Also, look at the 45/46 fototeca image to see the 40s pedralbes layout, where the roundabout junction thing that goes to Camp Nou hasn't been added yet).

I guess you can compare it to the 56/57 fototece pedralbes photo to get an idea of when it's from or differences.

Edit:

montjuic partial, 1961, best quality so far:

http://cartotecadigi.../id/3848/rec/63

montjuic 1987, in early demolition stages for the olympics. You can see the chicane in front of the stadium (top left corner of it) that was use for motorcyle endurance races in the 80s (i don't know exactly when they started using it).
http://cartotecadigi...id/6619/rec/134

pedralbes partial 1961:

http://cartotecadigi.../id/4029/rec/14

(i'm guessing they have everything at that level of detail but they didn't bother to scan it)

montjuic 1963:
http://cartotecadigi...d/4444/rec/1914
http://cartotecadigi...d/4551/rec/1915

montjuic 67, partial, low quality:
http://cartotecadigi.../13451/rec/3537

montjuic 1970, low quality:
http://cartotecadigi.../13081/rec/3887
http://cartotecadigi.../13450/rec/3889
http://cartotecadigi.../13515/rec/3891
http://cartotecadigi.../13786/rec/3892

There's probably more but it's hard to search on that site.

Okay, i made pics of the 47 imagery:

Donington Park

So we spoke a bit about this in the other thred but there is a poster which shows a possible 1960s idea for a layout here that includes an edited aerial of the old circuit.
https://external-con...KlgHaE8&pid=Api

Also there is this site about the book that has some nice images:
http://silverfox-creative.com/

It is interesting as i didn't realise they made the back "straight" faster when they extended the layout:
http://silverfox-cre..._88-89_zoom.png
(i imagine the red is the planned alteration, the blue is the original road (not sure if they kept the tarmac for it) and the pencil is just a rough sketch rather than it being the original road?)

This photo shows that the back straight was nowhere near as wide as it was at the bottom of the hairpin :
http://silverfox-cre...80-181_zoom.png

As an aside, amusingly, this super-imposed photo at the hairpin is wrong as they should actually be in the gravel trap, but it can't really be helped because they took the photo after the gravel trap was extended, so the original course road has been changed: http://silverfox-cre...20-221_zoom.png

I found a 1:2500 scale OS map of the area from 1963. The circuit is largely the same save for a few WW2 buildings added etc. But it will give you some idea of road widths, service roads and features, and shows which sections are wider than others etc. Of course it is not infallible but it seems decent and believable to me. Interestingly, McClean's looks the same as its modern variant, so maybe it wasn't changed after all.

Okay, due to this:
https://i0.wp.com/ww...jpg?w=750&ssl=1

I've found Eerste River but it's literally just a huge lump of concrete with a circuit mapped on it.
