Mainly due to great impression last Indy 500 got me I felt like re-playing one of my old games I have.

So I installed the game, dived in, want to change the controls...
and I get this error:

• Brain-in-a-jar FatalError:
  
• BjSys: Reset failed on D3D Device: "D3DERR_DEVICELOST"

I did remember that changing the controls goes in a different program. Think it was green in color...
Been long ago.

I have been looking for a forum where I'd may find people for help, but none found.
So I thought maybe someone may has an idea...

BTW Great game. I have it installed on my PC and I play it from time to time. Run great on Win 7. I'm still think that this game has great AI. They really know how to draft and make slipstream passings

Well, yeah, in TOCA Race Driver 3 and GRID: Autosport, for example. But I I suppose we cannot count that, can we?
A bit of a shame, I find oval races just so exciting to drive.

Agreed with Pavel, this game has some of the best AI I have raced against so far.
They do understand the concept of draft, try overtaking from both the outside and inside, sometimes go three-wide, and can even cause carnage without my help :joy:
Makes it a really fun game to play.

Few minor points are that I need to steer way more than I need to (I'm going full-lock a lot of times), and I never need the music while driving, though I do like them (except for the QOTSA track). (I have it turned off anyway).
And no multiplayer, of course...

I never got this sim working when I originally bought it. I'll have to give it another try. Didn't know about the controller menu fix.

I usually set my G25 rotation to 400-450 degrees. In game I reduce speed sensitivity down to 30-50%. High settings is too arcadish, and yes, it requiers full-lock sometimes But with lower setting it became much harder to teer right. Two much steering input and front wheels will loose the truction. At high speeds ovals with bumps meeting with walls became more frequent

I don't remember other control settings I use, but I will tell you when later.

centre sensitivity -2
speed sensitivity 25%

Pavel, the site to the link is down, you don't happen to have the file on your computer now, have you?

I think I might have this. Isn't the name of the file "Controls fix for Windows Vista and newer v1_4 by fk"? Let me know if you want it, although I have no idea about how to upload it to the forum.

The file's readme does not make any mention about Indycar Series but only about Rally Trophy. In the past, however, I d'ont remember playing RT but I do recall trying IndyCar Series

Sure, but how do I do it? I see other users posting files as attachments to each forum message but i have no idea about how to do it

Go to 'More Reply Options', there you can pick the file you want to attach, and after you have chosen it, click 'Attach This File'.
