Hi, after many years I just reinstalled the updated version of GPL. What a great job! Looks fantastic!
I am having a problem running GEM+ on my window 7 64 bit system though. After the latest update GEM+ starst okay, but when I try to run GPL I get a fatal error message. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I think I had that when there were more than one gem+ sessions running at the same time.
restart the system or ctrl-canc-alt to start task manager and check the list

or if that doesn't work try downloading GEM and replacing the GEM.exe
(That's what I did.)

Strangely the 'fatal error' message came up to me yesterday too.  I did more or less what Ginetto says, ctrl-alt-del, open 'Processes' in Task Manager and found multiple entries of GEM and deleted them all, then restarted Gem normally.

This will also happen if you install the 69 mod + updates without following the readme exactly. Is it with all mods that you get the error?

Almost always the reason for Gem giving this fatal error message is because it does not like your gpl.exe. This can be caused by a patch or by using gem in vroc mode which patches the gpl.exe.
It does not always happen but for some strange reason it does happen to some users now and again.

The simple solution is the replace your gpl.exe with one you have stored as a backup. If you don't have a backup you can use one from the gpl installer.

I solved the problem, or rather Paul Thurston did. It turned out I put GPL in the "Programs (x86) folder. He suggested I put everything in the C:\Sierra floder. worked like a champ!

Or just use Bernd's new GPL installer and use it's defaults. ;)

Check your Antivirus, either whitelist GEM, GPL or what I do in that case disable the AV, start GPL via GEM, see if it works. Exit GPL, reenable AV and GPL should work.

The server restoration must have reset some read flags for my account, I was bound to necro a thread sooner or later. No biggie I hope.
