Jerry Entin, who owned the car used by Elvis, provided some background information to the mod team about the car. He is also featured in the mod. He got the car from John Coombs, who had Graham Hill as his driver, driving in British Events and also the 1965 Riverside race. The car was painted in a very light Grey at this point. Jerry Entin painted it Nassau Blue with yellow striping, but loaned it to MGM for Elvis' film. They painted the car gold and brown. When Jerry got it back he painted it Nassau Blue again with a black sill. After loaning the car the Oldsmobile engine wouldn't run right for more than 10 minutes, which is why he had to abandon the Laguna Seca Can-Am race after practice. He later found out they sabotaged the engine putting ball bearings in it to disable the car, I would imagine for insurance reason. Possibly they were afraid Elvis had a lead foot? Anyway, I believe this was the very first McLaren production car as well, built in license by Elva Cars.

Great info TvO. You see why I could never decide between rock music and motor racing ? I saw this film in 1965 when i was 6 years old, and the impression I had from it was that a racing driver drives a fast and beautiful car, when he stops at the pits there were a blond, a burnette and a red hair girls waiting, and he jumps out the car, grab a guitar, and play a song for them, and they all fall in love with him. How wrong I was !!!..The only "racing driver" able to do this was Elvis himself. We mortals must decide between them. Trying to do both is impossible !!!
Was it your idea to include Elvis car in the mod ?

That´s why I was fooled by Elvis !!!... I was just a 6 year old kid !!...and everything got even worse when I saw Elvis other racing movie Viva Las Vegas.
Actually, I should blame my mother for this. She was an Elvis fan even before I was born. I got all this Elvis influence because of her.

It was, in fact I made the car for the mod :) . Well, at least the paintwork. The car model was very nicely made by Bob Berman and Shaun Collins with help from Martin Huiskes. There should also be an alternative computer opponents file included in the mod which has Elvis as your rival so you can beat him and steal his girls :D

certainly 37 and 61 would be nice, but after seeing what was achieved with 69, 76 wouldnt be too shabby either.
Anyway, Im so gratefull for almost all mods, I care about almost all of them

1. the original cars.
2. 67GT - My interests always swayed between F1 and Prototypes. And when I saw this mod it made me think, "this makes GPL twice as good!" No other mod made me think that.
3. 71 Can Am - This didn't interest me a great deal until I started driving it. I like it. Plus it gives me an idea of  what a 512M would have been like.
4. 69X - I obviously like going as fast as I can.
5. 66 F1 or 66 Can Am? I can't decide. The F1s interest me more and I like the cars better but the 66 Can Am mod seems to be the next step in physics. As I drive the 66 Can Am mod more, I've begun to think the modders are making the cars more realistic. I wonder if I've grown accustomed to driving cars that are unrealistic in some aspects and with a mod like 66 Can Am, I feel a little off because they're actually modeled a little better?
